I need some advice ....what would you do if you know someone was wrongfully terminated ? I have been on this forum for years and I know a lot of us just blow off steam and joke some. ConMed is very political and what I mean is if you voice any opinion that is contrary to what they think they can you . Now to the story..... I was in the men’s bathroom and overheard a couple guys laughing how they got two people fired . I was annoyed and ticked at the same time cause I knew what they were talking about. I know one of the guys outside of work. Should I tell him to get a lawyer and fight ConMed for wrongful termination ? I’m conflicted cause the two guys I know them personally and have done work with them. Should I contact HR privately ? My worries is if I stick my neck out I’ll get roped in and they let me go . Right now I need my job.
Advice appreciated !
Factors to take into consideration:
Who owns firearms?
Who has a bad temper?
You're messing with people's lives; income, pay the bills and buy stuff. Some people might want you to suffer once you get involved (at any cost: your kids, pets, significant other/friends with benefits).
Do you really care that much?
Do you despise the 2 douches, and like the 1 friend that was let go?
Maybe there's more I didn't think up.
Make a throwaway email, look up HR faculty emails by signing on adp. Then email them, then delete your email if you never want to hear from them. If you do want a response, they are going to need confirmation that you ARE currently employed, therefore identifying who you are. If you have proof, then you got something. If you just talk about what you heard, then your friend can't do much, and you'll be labelled a snitch if it gets out, and then the 2 guys might target you.
Can you say how far up the ladder this person was?
Manager?
Engineer?
Production?
Largo?
Utica?
My advice:
I'm not a tough guy. I don't mess with people's lives this much. If someone I liked was wrongfully let go, understand that it's done. They're making more money with less @$$holes around them.
The 2 guys....are they big? Do they pose a threat? Could you walk up to them 1 at a time and confront them? If HR gets involved (face to face) they will keep it quiet and anonymous. It's just up to you to continue being silent to other employees.
Too long, didn't read?
I don't know enough about this scenario to give good advice.
