I need some advice ....what would you do if you know someone was wrongfully terminated ? I have been on this forum for years and I know a lot of us just blow off steam and joke some. ConMed is very political and what I mean is if you voice any opinion that is contrary to what they think they can you . Now to the story..... I was in the men’s bathroom and overheard a couple guys laughing how they got two people fired . I was annoyed and ticked at the same time cause I knew what they were talking about. I know one of the guys outside of work. Should I tell him to get a lawyer and fight ConMed for wrongful termination ? I’m conflicted cause the two guys I know them personally and have done work with them. Should I contact HR privately ? My worries is if I stick my neck out I’ll get roped in and they let me go . Right now I need my job.
Advice appreciated !

I get what you are saying but it’s best you speak up and make management aware of the issue. Fact is a lot of this crap goes on at ConMed and it’s not just exclusive to your experience.

Even if you speak up and let them know if their opinion is cemented about those they terminated it doesn’t matter what you say.

I would contact your friend outside of ConMed and let them know. If you are 100% certain about what you heard and can’t prove it. Give this information to him and the proof. He can sue ConMed for wrongful termination.

That’s depending on how mad your friend is. Many people here are terminated for false reasons. They will go as far as destroying their reputation in their circles.

Wish you a lot of luck. Post here what your move is and what happens. Would be interesting to see how this plays out.

Factors to take into consideration:
Who owns firearms?
Who has a bad temper?
You're messing with people's lives; income, pay the bills and buy stuff. Some people might want you to suffer once you get involved (at any cost: your kids, pets, significant other/friends with benefits).
Do you really care that much?
Do you despise the 2 douches, and like the 1 friend that was let go?

Maybe there's more I didn't think up.

Make a throwaway email, look up HR faculty emails by signing on adp. Then email them, then delete your email if you never want to hear from them. If you do want a response, they are going to need confirmation that you ARE currently employed, therefore identifying who you are. If you have proof, then you got something. If you just talk about what you heard, then your friend can't do much, and you'll be labelled a snitch if it gets out, and then the 2 guys might target you.

Can you say how far up the ladder this person was?
Manager?
Engineer?
Production?
Largo?
Utica?

My advice:
I'm not a tough guy. I don't mess with people's lives this much. If someone I liked was wrongfully let go, understand that it's done. They're making more money with less @$$holes around them.
The 2 guys....are they big? Do they pose a threat? Could you walk up to them 1 at a time and confront them? If HR gets involved (face to face) they will keep it quiet and anonymous. It's just up to you to continue being silent to other employees.

Too long, didn't read?
I don't know enough about this scenario to give good advice.

I would agree to this, it’s best you keep your mouth shut. ConMed management can be bullies and pricks. Not to repeat what was already said but if the people you overheard is team leads or management then you better just back off. Don’t take this to HR because they WILL throw you under the bus so to speak. HR parade as people who look out for your interests. That can be further from the truth, the are company people. What is best for themselves and ConMed ha ha. It’s best you just make note of what you heard and don’t interact with them. Sure tell your friend that was terminated. Let him or her decide how to proceed. Me personally I would get a paper trail and record those pricks . Then turn over what you find to your friend. I’m not a die hard ConMed fan but very practical . ConMed has screwed me a couple times but mostly over inter office politics. #rageagainstthemachine

It doesn't matter just move on . Everyone is saying the same thing. The other day I witness someone peeing on the floor in the stall. It was obvious what the intent was and disgusting. I didn't say a word because whats the point ? You speak up and they look at you like you are guilty. What keeps me from speaking up is how they gossip like little girls in high school. They will turn on you in a heartbeat.

If you work here long enough you will learn the best route to take I promise. Been working here for over 10 years. Nothing has changed ,well I take that back. EVERYTHING HAS CHANGED !

there was a female engineer who most likely still works there
a long time ago i witnessed this manly looking beast yelling and cussing at others
sometimes uppermanagement is RIGHT THERE and smiles and walks awayy
she likes to call it "passion"
she brags about knowing so many martial arts and she's so deadly and she cracks jokes with guys so guys treat her like she is one
i wish i had my phone out recording her snapping at people
she did it a lot
harassment and threatening people is allowed if you're an engineer there

HR does talk
they just do it very quietly, and deny it if they are confronted
EVERYONE talks about everything
when layoffs started in building 4, the other 3 buildings were tossing out names of everyone who was getting canned as it was happening (cell phone texts)
