How to get Intuniv approved for Florida HMO

I am a pharmaceuitcal representative and my son is on Intuniv bid. CMS (Florida State Insurance ) covers the drug but the State of Florida is switching our son to Florida KidCare in July. Florida Kidcare has several HMO's such as United, Staywell, etc and I was told by several pharmacists that Intuniv will not be on the plan. Does anyone know for a fact about Intuniv not being on Florida Kidcare? What alternative does my son have besides switching to the non slow release version of Intuniv? Do you think there will be a difference in his behavior if he is currently on 1mg of Intuniv BID.

You're a rep and you have your kid on state insurance? That makes zero sense. Which one are you not being honest about.., being a rep or having your kid on state insurance.

The Florida State Insurance on CMS is Title 19/21 and covers kids with disabilities such as autism. You can check this out at the Dan Marino Center and discuss this with Dr Epstein or the nurses. I just checked with the pharmacy and they said that since the half lives are the same for both the generic and Intuniv, that there wouldn't be much of a difference.

Any feedback. My son is on 1mg BID.
