I was contacted by a recruiter about an exciting opportunity in the diabetes market. It sounds like a contract with BI for it's DPP4i. Now I hear Lilly is co-promoting the drug too? They are hiring FDE reps, BI has FDE reps, and now a contract force on top of it all? What happens if the drug doesn't make it? Are contract people first to go or FDEs? The Lilly jobs expect 2 years. Is that when Lilly will decide if BI is worth buying? Then are all BI reps out of work?

The other way around BI will decide in two years if they want to buy Lilly. BI is the bigger company with the stronger balance sheet.

BI is owned by shareholders who are related through marriage etc..... They will sell if they can get a really good price. It is a privately held corporation but these are going away quickly.

You believe BI is larger than Lilly?? What kind of California medication are you smoking? And BI is privately held, so how in the world would you know what their balance sheet looks like? BI has always developed good meds and hired another company to sell them, apparently because they don't think their own reps are capable. This drug will do very well and the agreement between the 2 companies will keep them tied together at the hip for many years to come.

I am the one running the numbers for Lehman Brothers we are handling the merger. This is just the pre-work. As an FYI BI has an annual report which gives a nice overview of the various departments.

Is this like one of those light bulb jokes?

Q: How many Chinamen does it take to change a lightbulb?
A: Thousands, because Confucious say many hands make light work.

Q: How many Mexicans does it take to change a lightbulb?
A: As many as will fit in the El Camino.

Q: How many Germans does it take to screw in a light bulb?
A: Ve are asking ze qvestions here!
A: Two, one to give the order that the bulb be changed and one to screw it in.
