How many let go on the GSK project?

If they wanted 360 reps, I wonder how many were let go yesterday and today? What's the number they are now launching with? All that time and expense to hire us and fly us around the country is now for nothing. It seems like management could say nothing more than read a script. Frustrated!
 
























Most definitely not. Things like this happen. Let it be a lesson you NEVER give notice until your next job is a done deal. Heck, I'd wait to give notice until the day you start.

Yes...that's GREAT business practice! Seriously, you think it is fair to an employer to wait until the first day of a new job to give notice? I guess it would keep you "safe", but it would certainly burn bridges! It's sad that we're forced to be snakes to ensure our family is taken care of :(
 


















I think the person was referring to unemployment from the job they left to accept the Ventiv position.

Yes. They were. The problem is, we're not entitled to unemployment from either company. We QUIT, we weren't let go from the old or current company because we had a signed contract from Ventiv...we had gone through the background check and drug test. BUT, since the job was "cancelled" and the offer was retracted, we aren't entitled unemployment from Ventiv. It's a MESS. There are unemployed people with no where to go because GSK screwed up or backed out. It's sad.

Call your recruiter! They are mortified. They learned of this AFTER we (reps) did. Mine jumped through hoops to get me scheduled for an interview with another contract. It's better than nothing!
 


















It might be worth checking with your state unemployment office to see if the Ventiv job/non-job could be a valid claim. I checked and their initial response was that if the employer paid you more than 2K, you can make a claim for unemployment.
