How many doctors have you bribed for business ?

Would this include providing sample storage apparatus, trips to resorts for family including golf, massages, etc, free bone screenings for physicians practice? Believe fines have been paid for these and chocked up as cost of doing business.

Not very CIA of Novartis now is it .
Good thing about uncle sam , he won't stop at just one fine.

Would this include $1000 to have breakfast with us, deep sea fishing trips, Big Bertha golf clubs, Mont Blanc pens, deer hunting trips, guided striper fishing excursions, private dinner parties at docs house, Honey Baked Hams, Omaha steaks, river boat cruises, Augusta tickets, Braves tickets, Falcons tickets, Bulldogs tickets, REM tickets, Rolling Stones tickets, Eagles tickets, meeting Joe Montana tickets, Mickey Mantle selling Voltaren, sending big writers to every resort in the world, paying $2500 to speak to their staff, or taking docs to strip clubs and dropping $1500 and putting it on AmEx? Would you consider that bribing doctors for business? If that is bribing for business then I have bribed many...

See, I told ya it was easy. This guy did a pretty good job. President's Club?

The question is good but not the best. The truly "goodest" question is: Is there ANY doctors left you did not bribe?
People this company remains THE worse offender in the biz of any kind. If you can't collect evidence here and go to Feds with for taking them down and getting rich, then you are part of the problem not solution. Or simply a moron. Would you not rather walk away with millions in reward from DOJ and never need their lousy job? Go read whistleblowers unite and learn how to do it. You owe it to yourselves and our taxpayers even to Obama et al.

Power to the people! Right on!

No one ever took me to a strip club. If I had known Novartis did that, I would have written your stuff like crazy. I mean, there aren't any "real" reasons to use one ARB over another, so this is as good a reason as any. My brother is an orthopod, and he still gets trips from hip and joint companies. Wassup wit dat? How I wish for the old days of free dinners and junkets.

This is a true story ...

Two CNS Product Managers (Ritalin LA, Focalin) were fired in 2002/3 for using the Novartis AMEX on various occasions to take doctors to strip clubs.

As the billing will not be under an obvious name....ie, "the Big Tit" and "the Rose Bush"....but something more corporate like "Le Bistro" or "American Grill" .... the whole scam went unrecognized by their Sr Management.

On the last outing....the doctors went crazy....and that AMEX ended up with charges for private lap dances (ie, blow jobs) ...to the tune of 15,000 !

They tried to covering up....but they could not.
And the "now alerted" auditors found a string of outtings to all sorts of strip bars.

I cannot recalled the names....but Lisa Pilla was their senior manager, back then.
Ask her...she might disclose more details.

They got fired not because they did it but because they did it in wrong way, leaving evidence somewhere along the way. That is the difference between getting fired for doing it (the co encourages it and even iunsists you do the misconduct) as the law requires and getting fired for doing it wrong. That is why Novartis is a criminal mafia style org. and does not tolerate failure to do the crime and leave evidence. They are still lucky for the real mafia would have had them whacked.

I went to stripclubs a lot when my ex was working at Novartis. Gave her the receipts and she'd get reimbursements. She was smart, did not put it under "Lapdances." Every so often, one of those dancers would be in the mood for a protein shake and I was happy to donate some to the cause. Cool thing was the dancers were making more buckage than the ex. For you younger female reps who still have nice bodies and enjoy swallowing, you can consider this career change when the novartis axe comes chopping in your direction.

can't wait for the "sunshine act" where there will be 2 sets of #'s
what novartis claims they paid speakers & the actual amounts.

Oh & I'm sure the legal eagles will try & spin bogus studies & not report that income
