How long to hear back from interview

I had a first interview a week ago. How long do they usially take to get back? Does HR contact the person either way even if they didn't make it to the next interview?

Recall during the interview that "do you have any questions for me?" Always ask a few that show off your brilliance but Always ask "when should I hear from you?"

My experience inpharma sales is that the longer you are not contacted the chances of you moving forward go down..go ahead and fire off a quick email asking the status (google it up 'follow up email to job interview')

Good luck,,

I appreciate the response. It has been years since I have interviewed, so although I did send a follow up letter, I forgot to ask when/if I would hear back.
I have worked lately with recruiters who give you an answer either way. Dealing directly with companies is frustrating because you sometimes don't get feedback at all.

You typically get what you ASK for. Do you think recruiters have this magical power that hypnotizes the hiring manager to give them timely feedback? Or maybe the recruiter actually ASKS the hiring manager for a timeline and feedback.

Amateur.

Thank you for the insight Jack Leg. You must be a real Boehringer professional
Does your business card read executive douche?
This person obviously interviewed and wants an answer. Go figure typical unprofessional environment at BI
No answer is good and don’t get sucked into this cheapskate sewage of a company! An Applebee’s dishwasher has better job satisfaction

I hope you never get laid off, having to worry about paying your bills. It's tough in Pharma and medical sales right now. No, I do not think recruiters have a "magical power." But they do have relationships with companies who are their clients. It's a different dynamic than, say, someone who answers an ad listing on LinkedIn and goes it alone without help of a recruiter who is also trying to make money on the deal (therefore, offers feedback and insight from their client to keep you happy).

Yeah, I am starting to think it's a blessing in disguise if BI does NOT call me. I don't get why people are so s*** on here.

The sad thing is BI used to be a great place to work. Now a days it’s a backstabbing joke of Pharma. Many new losers have come into the company and have hidden amongst the ranks.
Manager training? Well school hall monitors had better job description.
Management has become a pathological job justification position Let’s not start on actual sales- all the large molecule divisions are only finding small molecular divisions,
Get out while you are ahead
