How long before Giovanni plots his BMS takeover.

BMS will never be acquired. It's too large for any company to digest + more importantly, Novartis and others look to acquire growth. For the next several years (if not longer) we're looking at a long tail of declining revenues with no end in sight. No one is interested in taking that over. In other words, the mountain slide is horse sh_t.

We will eventually be sold for parts down the line. Think Valeant. The 'good' stuff that has some semblance of growth, like Reblozyl, will get sold off.

Gio is incompetent but this crew led by Boerner is even more so. And investors know it.

This is certainly accurate but might be built on the idea that leaders would act rationally with the best interests or demands of shareholders in mind. But Giovanni and Chris Boerner are both men whose leadership is based 99% on emotion, not rationality.

I have no idea what terrible things must have happened to Giovanni in his youth but he led BMS in a Voldemort / Darth Vader / Captain Queeg fashion using anger, fear and intimidation to manage employees of all levels to dictate decisions on virtually all issues from science to commercial. Chris Boerner operates like the quintessential tiny man who was bullied as a child and who uses every opportunity to make himself look smart and tough, surrounding himself with sycophants and talking down to people in front of others.

I have no idea why exactly Giovanni “retired” when he did, but if Chris had a role in pushing him out and I suspect he did then I am certain that everything Giovanni does moving forward will be part of a plan of tribulation. These are not rational leaders who will do what’s in the best interest of shareholders or employees. They will use their organizations to meet their own unique and intense emotional needs.

And the Board of Directors of BMS has never shown much interest or ability to manage its CEO.

I still think Chris should be watching over his shoulder!

Gio's kids are off to college and he wanted to go back to Europe before he had to actually do any real work at BMS... I don't read into any more than he is your typical lazy Italian.

Huh? You mean to tell me that a guy who gambled away $15 billion on a moonshot acquisition doesn't have the company's best interests at heart?

Chris Boerner and others in the ELT will be in prison in a few years for what they have done here. There are rumors going around that the DOJ and Securities and Exchange Commission are investigating BMS and there are big problems within the leadership ranks.
