Sun is a crappy company. Look at the turnover, it’s probably close to 50% in the field. Look at where people come from: gyms, nursing homes, landscapers.
Seriously.
No one comes to Sun for a career.
No one. You’ll fit in just fine.
As a manager , if you choose to negotiate with me after I present the offer I am most likely going to pull the offer. It’s a giant red flag. Actually did this a few times. So maybe think long term about negotiating for stuff that isn’t negotiable. Who is the real moron?
And you are PRECISELY the type of manager NO ONE wants to work for. Negotiation starts at the offer letter and everyone knows the offer is a start, not the best. Having been a manager before I know there’s a budget to manage, so the offer leaves some scraps on the side to be able to close the offer for talent, but only if the talent requests. You need the talent much more than the talent needs Sun.As a manager , if you choose to negotiate with me after I present the offer I am most likely going to pull the offer. It’s a giant red flag. Different strokes I suppose. Really, there must be an enormous disconnect if you haven’t discussed what they needed to come on board. The fact you have had not cleared that hurdle makes me think the only thing you manage is doing your own laundry…maybe not even that.
Both of you are clownsIf a potential employee respectfully makes a counter offer /asks for more comp or PTO, then:
1. why are you most likely to pull the offer ?
2. why is it a red flag ?
3. why do YOU think these things are not negotiable?
You need to answer EACH of these questions in order to have any level of credibility.
And before you get started, know that I worked for Sun, I NEGOTIATED 20k additional in salary, and an extra week of PTO.
“You miss 100% of the shots you don’t take”
Now, tell me, who’s the real moron ?
see - he won’t reply. No way. He got toasted with his Mumbai-like arrogant attitude.
