Well, technically Clinton made a different decision. He had him offered up at least three times and said no thanks. For as much as our Dear Leader critcizes Bonesman II, he certainly is doing his best to emulate Bonesman II. Nothing has really changed on the foreign policy front, except that we are now helping to over-throw another sovereign leader.

What's interesting is - every president gets the same criticisms:
"What are they doing taking so much vacation?"
"Why aren't they procative out when a naturalo disaster is approaching?"
Then the ball bounces into the next court, a new president takes over and it's the same old thing from the other side.
Both sides are filled with corrupt attorneys trying to line their pockets yet everyone picks one side or the other and then turns around pointing the finger at the other side.

Youre really fixated on this BB, have you taken your meds today? As I've stated, I'm not fond of Obama but W was strongly criticized for being on vacation during Katrina ('You're doing a great job Brownie - member?) so now we have another portential disaster and whatever he (Obama) was doing, he's at least involved. All you're doing is weakening the case for whomever you end up endorsing during the next election by showing how they're supporters are irrational.

Here's a newsflash for you. Bush and the FEMA director at that time did a better job with Katrina. Estimates are that about 80% of those in high risk areas were evacuated, a far sight higher percentage than what opted to leave the east coast high risk areas. Luckily, Irene is no where near as severe and the east coast isn't sub-sea level like much of Louisiana.

Baloney! My how people develop faded memories. New Orleans was caught flatfooted although it was not the fault of the president, it was either the governor of LA or the mayor of NO. Bush's misjudgement was his lack of interest or sincerity when he by passed the tragedy and did NOT end his vacation.

Once again, put on your glasses. Your questions are funny and irrelevant to anything. He Obama relinquished his Illinois law license in early 2007. Many professionals relinquish licenses if they mo longer practice in the profession. He was no longer practicing law so why would he keep pit? Do you honestly think he's going back into law when he gets donme with this job? Now he doesn't have to pay the fees and there is a provision for reinstatement.

FYI, I was oncve a licensed Real Estate agent in CA. I sold for awhile but then, let it expire. Why would I do that? I can always have it reinstated and don't care to pay the fees nor am I in the industry. :cool:

Thank you for the somewhat patronizing review of real estate licensee continuing education credits. I see that it hasn't changed much since I myself was licensed, forty years ago.

As far as Continuing Legal Education (CLE's), my late wife didn't have any trouble getting them at all. All she had to get was 75 credits over a 2 year period, and she accomplished that simply by attending the annual ABA Convention. The rest she made up by attending lectures sponsored by Lexus/Nexus and/or law book vendors.

All of that having been said, you seem to be mistaken about when Obama, for whatever reason, stopped practicing law. It's easy to see why, since the online stuff is a little garbled, but we'll get back to that in a minute. Personally, I am inclined to think you just wanted to take a cheap shot at me (not that you've ever done that before).

It does appear that Michelle Obama has no law license either. She voluntarily surrendered her license in 1993. Note that she did not inactivate her license, she surrendered it. In other words, she is no longer an attorney. She is allowed to refer to herself as a Lawyer, but not as an attorney. To do could result in charges of impersonating an attorney. In order to practice law again, she would have to take and pass the Bar exam, not an easy feat for someone very far out of law school. Voluntarily surrendering means that she was probably charged with behavior serious enough to cause her disbarment, but made a deal to "voluntarily" surrender her license.

As for Barack Obama's license status or reason for not having a license, the record is suspicious and murky. Question: Why would he have "gone on inactive status when he was still engaged in the practice of law and continued to do so afterwards? I expect we will never know the answer. Like so many other things in Obama's past, public records have evidently "been misplaced".
