How About Home Office Layoffs

<

is a mess
hard to explain and is probably done the same as everywhere else about 10 to 15 years ago things like to not back fill when one leaves.
a lot more could be done to decrease costs and cut away layers of bureaucracy it is as though 10 to 15 years ago style
lots of layers upon layers in small departments, many many layers
managers with 1 or 2 reports to practice being manager or justify level, very slow to move forward communicate or take decisions
more than one person doing the same job on a project
extremely cumbersome steps to everything
waste unseen at high levels - so price is layoffs

Is it true more layoffs at home office?

Yes it does happen I am aware of dept with 2 that report to a low level mgr who in turn reports to dept head - this leads to business delays, misinformation, lack of information, no way to quickly move forward or solve problems. Another person with 1 direct report. There are only 7 in the group + dept head. Are 3 levels necessary? BI, why? The head does not get to talk to lower people in group or hear input because low level mgr does not want them to have access. The low level mgr is a barrier between workers and the actual leader. Low level mgr trying to work system to get a promotion, not trying to do effective business. Lower reports have a question or suggestion and then have to wait to hear response relayed, then repeat for clarifications, etc. No connection with leadership. I was told in confidence low level manager was in the role as a development opportunity and to justify level. Yes it does make us miss KPI and deadlines. makes no sense frustrating.
