Horrible FAERS Data for Ingrezza.

Ok guys. Enough with the insults. I want to hear what ingrezza reps have to say about the FDA AE Report. This is a serious problem for them. LTCs and mental health will have an issue with this. Neuros will have issues with HD patients. No doctor will Rx ingrezza first line with HD patients. HD patients already have an increased risk of suicide. So a drug with high AE and negative drug to drug interaction effects is going to be a tough sell. (I am not a Teva rep. I work for Novartis. But I am familiar with these drugs because my mother has HD w/ Chorea). So no insults please.

For HD it won’t be a problem, maybe a boxed warning. There isn’t anything out there, and it’s a horrible disease. This can help. As far as the LTC communities. Good Luck. I am still SMH they think this will be a good idea.

WHAT!? HD not a problem? Do you know how many medications an HD patient is on? No way will a Neurologist use Ingrezza with an HD patient. Even insurer's will not let ingrezza go preferred. They will go step edit. Imagine the liability for docs. Ingrezza is 8x higher in deaths the Austedo and austedo is indicated for TD and HD. Unlike ingrezza which is just TD. Those death numbers for ingrezza will be much higher with HD chorea patients. Nice try making it seem like it 7x more AEs and 8x more deaths with fewer indications is not a big deal

Ingrezza according to the fda website posted on this thread shows it has 8x more deaths and 9x more AEs then Austedo. Austedo is indicated for both TD and HD. Ingrezza has a horrible profile and is only indicated for TD right now. With the drug interaction profile for Ingrezza, Neurologists will not use ingrezza as a first line treatment. I just don't see it. I think Neurocrine expansion was a mistake. I think they are doing it for a short period of time to make shareholders happy since they will miss forecasts and ingrezza missed their target for the 2nd yr in a row. I think the expansion is to try and keep your share price above $75 because it's going to take a hit over the next 2 weeks since this will also be the 4th time in a row Neurocrine missed its forecast

So then hopefully your mom is on Austedo. I'm sure you have already made that choice for her and hope she is doing well.

There are 4-5 options. Austedo, tetrabenazine, no treatment or enroll in experimental trials. Soon there will be Ingrezza. My mom was in the Roch trail last year. Her neurologist recommended Austedo and that's what she takes. But she stops taking the med when she is enrolled in these trials to washout. Which is the worst. One time she was in the placebo group. You can tell when a Chorea patient is not getting any therapy.
