Honestly I Am Not Sure Anymore

I have gone through the interview process and initially I was very excited. I still have a job, but thought this would be a breath of fresh air. Now I have to say that I am totally uncomfortble with how the company has handled the process. It is so disjointed, confusing and cloaked in questions that I cannot get back to having a good feeling. If you're not working, obviously you need to stay the course and see how it plays out. But from where I sit, these folks are totally unorganized. If this is how they handle the hiring, what makes me think they can pull off a successful product launch?

It would be different if we were just waiting for approval, etc. but they really seem as if they don't have their acts together and I don't think I can take the risk. Good luck to those who go for it. I really hope it works. Just think this through because if they screw up the launch, you'll be looking for work again very soon.

I couldn't disagree more. It has been smooth and extremely professional. Received updates along the way and am ready to launch!!!!! I'm very impressed w/ the overall organization.

I agree totally . There was constant contact and every thing was handled perfectly. I am very excited to be moving on from current job.

My previous manager will take me back, will be out of here within in 21 days. Can see the writing on the wall, what a mistake.

Who needs ya, you obviously have never been at a startup. Part of launching a drug and company is going through the growing pains. Go back to your hand holding big pharma job you sample dropper. We won't even know your missing.

Here's the problem that I will first admit is completely my fault. The interviewing process was so quick (1 day with 45 min interviews) that it didn't leave much time for me to do my due diligence to see if this was the company for me. I was in a position where I was with big pharma and was scared of the future so I might have been quick to jump the gun. So yeah, maybe a start up isn't for me after all. And maybe others are starting to feel the same way. But regardless I am very concerned with management and I fear that this is going to be a Amylin legacy culture that will lead us into a direction that will burn us in the end. I would go into specifics about my DM already in the Northeast, but I don't want to identify myself. Bottom line, if you are feeling like you need to get out of here, then yes, there are others with same legitimate concerns. Just my opinion.

Hey, thanks for your candid honesty. I've seen the NE guy so I can understand your concerns. I'm not from Amylin so I don't know there culture but you do raise a point. It's not good to bring a large amount of people from one org when your trying to build your own. I guess the wild card is what the Amylin culture was like. Any chance of explaining further? Much appreciated.

The NE RBM is not from Amlyin he is from UCB. I know a couple reps that worked for him and they gave him glowing reviews. He seems very solid to me but I guess time will tell.

I honestly am soo sure this is a great place to be. Sure it's a risk but the rewards will clearly outweigh the risk. It's getting tougher and tougher to find these types of opportunities. I know what big pharma is all about and that is my definition of insanity. We are at the early stages of introducing a company. I know I am juiced up to go. Best of luck in the new year to all my colleagues.

Yes he did. He had just as many bodies behind him. Can't wait to see how this develops because now he has to sell, or get people to sell. Better than general hospital.

hey that's just what i was told, but what you say doesn't seem to jive with what was said to me. i was told he had virtually no turnover and top teams?? i'm confused

yep confirmed BS as i thought. i called the rep again that worked for ss for almost 6 years and she said that was totally bogus. said he had virtually no turnover in that time and produced top results year after year?? good to know peeps
