Hi, I am interviewing for a position in the NorthEast. I am reading this insanity about IC/bonuses getting pulled after the quarter......is this true, or just underperformers got screwed?

how are mngrs in Northeast? Overall, how is company? car? training? base? what is new commission?

I was laid off, and need a job, so please honest replies. I need something with insurance until I can find a perfect fit....thanks!

If your a lucky rep you don't get screwed...if your an unlucky rep you get screwed. Company has no clue how to figure goals. They have many on PIPS and act like it's not a big deal. Some will make over $15,000 in bonus while other will make $0 in bonus...seriously...no joke. I am being totally honest!!! If you really need a job good luck. If you really can wait to find one...wait. A lot of great reps have left and found better jobs with better companies. There is no company car and territories get bigger and bigger every year. A new product just got approved. Who knows what sales force will have it. Company is clueless on launching products. If you don't have a good manager you will sink not swim...especially if your new and do not have any relationships built with customers.

The moral at the national sales meeting was horrible. I heard so much complaining within in the sales force at the meeting. Corporate listens with deaf ears. Some managers sweep lots under the rug and get away with it. Not a fun work environment. Good luck and go with your gut feeling.

You must be referring to WH division. If so you heard correct. They changed bonus structure in the middle of the trimester! They also changed bonus for CNS in the middle of the trimester! I can understand starting a new trimester, but in the middle of it? So many reps are hitting it out of the park that they adjusted it to where you have to have 95% to get a bonus now. Once again, that is fine, but not in the MIDDLE of a trimester! That is what makes morale go downhill right there! If you get a good manager and you need a job, go for it. Find out about that first. They do give a decent car allowance and gas card. I am happy with that.

Have you interviewed with Paul yet? The VP of sales?

If you want honesty, I will give you that.

1) If you don't have a job and this is offered, you take it... Period! When something better comes along, you take it and leave.

2) There were a few things in some of the posts that were off... In Q1 of this year (the Minivelle launch) goals were laid out. Halfway through the quarter the company adjusted up the percent to goal you had to reach before hitting the initial bonus. It went from 100% to 125%. This was put into place if the sales were better than expected, but it screwed a lot of reps out of bonus. AFTER (actually about 2 weeks after) the quarter was over the company (who had lead the sales force to believe that there was an uncapped bonus of $850 per percent over goal) had a meeting in Chicago and decided to cut the payout. The reps who reached goal (which is the adjusted 125%, confusing, I know) would now only get $850 up to 120%. There were a few reps who absolutely blew it out and made the company's bottom line look great.... and they were rewarded with $1.00 for every percent over 120. Yes, $1!.... 850 to 1. Hard to believe. So a rep who did 200% of goal made only $80 more than a rep who hit 120%. The $1 was a legal way for the company to avoid a law suit, as several managers and executives told the entire sales force at the meeting, as well as throughout the quarter, the bonus was uncapped. Some reps were even told by their manager that they were going to make 56-60k or more bonuses all the way up to the end of the quarter. But in the end, the company thanked their top performing reps by saying, we aren't paying you more than 120%, period!...Of course, this was affecting their top 10-12 reps!.... You may be asking yourself how does this make sense? Well, you will be asking that forever, cause no one has ever heard of anything even close to this happening before, anywhere! So, as the best reps look for new jobs, the word is out to pretty much shut your sales down and sand bag at 120%. We sales reps are driven by $$$, and when you get only $1 more for over-performing, why continue to sell? It will only hurt you by increasing your goal for the next quarter. Well done Noven!.. One thing that will be interesting to witness is when they introduce the bonus plan for Brisdelle. No one will care!... BTW, you need to learn the words to "We are the Champions" by Queen!... Inside joke.

3)Like any company a manager can make or break you. But again, if you don't have a job, you put up with it until you find a better one. There have been some bad stories about one northeast manager, male.

4)Company pays $600 a month for car. You can't drive a clunker though. Car has to be valued over a certain amount and be within a certain age or your reimbursement drops off. Company pays gas/mileage. It's ok. but not ideal.

5)Training is easy. No worries there.

6)Commission? Well, if you read the previous info, you'll know it changes with the breeze.

7)Base is lower than most companies for reps with experience. Yearly raises are below average.

8) Insurance is ok, again, not ideal.

Hope this helps and good luck!

If you do real well here you will be rewarded with some of the ugliest shoes ever made!

Wow that is crazy! What does the average full time rep make in bonus?

#2 is totally a sleazy deal. Sorry for those that got so royally screwed.

I have been in pharma for a long time, and I am quite surprised by the completely candid and polite answers. It makes me believe that this is a good group of reps. I am considering applying for a position and am wondering about micromanagement of daily call activity (i.e. manager gives verbal reprimand if no call logged before 8:15am, no call with signature after 4:30pm, or lunch is longer than 30 minutes). Is daily life at Noven as bad as what I have it currently? Last question, how are corporate credit cards handled? Does Noven pay the bill after the expense report is submitted or do they reimburse you and then you pay the bill?
All honest answers are greatly appreciated. Thanks.

Corporate Amex, auto reimbursement, mice-managing depends on manager, but a good group of people here. I actually do work for Noven as a rep currently - so I'm not someone with an ax to grind. Things could be better, but we are finally making headway with sales of Brisdelle. Contrary to what you hear on here, the co is financially secure and no rules on what time I take lunch, but if you are lazy don't come here - you have to work to be successful.

I agree with the previous post, not alot of micro-managing but you have to know how to sell. I'm a rep on the WH side and have been with a few different pharma compaines and seen micro-managing first hand. I like my team, DM is positive and helpful, RD and VP are alot more involved in the field then other companies. They got us back on track because the launch of Brisdelle was very poor. Managed care coverage was horrible and marketing message was not good. Since we "relaunch" Brisdelle message is better and customers know how to use co-pay card. Sales are starting to take off and DTC has really helped.

If you desperately need a job, by all means, take this one. Otherwise, keep looking. They do micromanage, nobody is doing well and the doctors think Brisdelle is ridiculous. Plus, even if you can convince them to write it, and the patient actually figures out how to fill it, that is the last you will see of the rx.

I disagree- do not take this job even if you are desperate. So many people's lives have been negatively affected by working here..,this company has knowingly chopped salaries, put good families into hard times...

Please don't come here.

This is true and this happened to many while working here.

Pharma companies used to put their reps first because that is the front line. But the industry has become reactive. Just read the previous posts.

It is a shame. Good people came here and were lied to in the interviews about what was to come.

What a bunch of A$$Holes! To tell someone who is desperate to get a job to support their family to not take one here is so SELFISH! What jerks you are! So easy for you to say as you get your paycheck here.

Look, things at Noven are not ideal, but it is still a job in an industry that is cutting reps and salaries. So take the job and continue looking, cause things here could change quickly. There are good people here (fortunately I work with several) at Noven, and there are complete jokes. Do not believe that the comments about Brisdelle being relaunched with new messaging and is now starting to take off is true. It is NOT! Brisdelle is severely under-performing. Most reps are flat with sales and the company as a whole is up one week and back down the next. again, that is called Flat. The DTC advertising will increase scripts, but by how much and for how long, as refills are the real problem. Brisdelle is a product that most providers don't see a need for, and most pharmacists would like to see disappear.

Yes, the company is making money right now, but not with Brisdelle. It is sucking profit away and it doesn't matter how much money VVD, Mini and CP make, there will eventually be a time where, if it doesn't turn a profit, the company will stop the bleeding. Yes, Mini is making Noven lots of money. Some may say it sells itself. Truth be told, had I been promoting it with samples this year, I am confident my Mini sales would be 30% higher. Yes, that's even more profit Noven is walking away from. But we keep being told VVD is going generic, which NO ONE believes! Please, someone, show me ANY proof that there is a generic in the making, cause I and several of my providers can't find a thing online! Even if it goes generic, the generic would cost $15 or more.

Anyway, Brisdelle is what it is. It will never be a serious player. Noven needs to go ahead and put the emphasis back on Mini and try to hammer that product for every penny it can, cause it's a quality product that consumers and providers want. Make Brisdelle the "fall back on if you can't take estrogen" product it is.

Some at corporate will read my comments and say I'm too brainwashed on estrogen to give Brisdelle a fair chance. How untrue that would be. I work my tail off everyday to educate my targets on Brisdelle without ever mentioning Mini. It's what I'm paid to do. But I'm not going to go in and lie and say Brisdelle is something it is not. It has its place, but that is not directly competing with estrogen.

Take the job and take care of your family. Work hard and keep looking. It's called being smart! Who knows, maybe things here will turn around.
