so I just interviewed for a "shoulder specialist" position here and am really wondering what the long-term benefit is if I decide to take this role. I was a Recon rep for one of the Big Four for many years, am more than qualified, and the hiring manager had the audacity to ask me "what makes you think you're qualified?" I wanted to smack this clown upside his head, but given the environment we are currently in with everyone knowing everyone and the fact this company will probably be bought out within 12-18 months, I played nice, finished the interview and laughed when I called the recruiter back. This company couldn't be more unprofessional!

You are truly an idiot. A rep can move around to different divisions. The shoulder specialist role needs someone who can discuss RC and instability repairs. You have zero knowledge of both coming from recon. Who in their right mind would even interview you let alone higher you is beyond me. It would take you at least a year to even learn the cases to the point you could speak at a minimum level. That role pays about 140-160 max. So if you wanted that role it's bc you're not even making that much. Which means you have a small territory bc u suck as a rep. Not to mention you don't even work for S&N. Van horns only mistake was wasting an hour of his life interviewing a no talent $ss clown like you who can't even sell in recon at your own company. Glad we didn't bring this douch into our company
 






a) I am making $170k now but losing 1 key doctor & probably losing another $200k in revenue due to GPO contracts/CMS Bundling in 2016-2017.

b) it's easier to find a new job paying $150k with stability then dealing with running sets and trying to spend another 2 years of my life trying to convert 2-3 dr's that have been using the same system for 20 years

c) it's a fucking rotator cuff bro. Not that hard to learn. You would be lucky to have someone like me who at least has relationships

d) nah. You were right. S&N is the shittiest of all the Big 4 and I can do better.....
 






Relationships?? Really? How many of these great relationships do RC repairs? All the talented recon reps I know don't lose business to rfp's, or Drs switching. So u are a no talent a&& clown. If ur the man why wouldnt another recon company hire u with "all your relationships"? U don't have relationships. The business u have is bc of the product not u. Face it..recon doesn't want u. Sports does t want u. Check out gyn. They mainly hire pussys. Or pharma.

I haven't seen a S&N rep in my territory for a carpal tunnel or ACL or RC more than one or two times in 13 years in this industry. Your company is top notch pal! Your big doc has a real tough case coming up on Monday and REALLY needs you to put a suture anchor in! This guy is a moron. Hey genius Mitek is a distant 3rd or 4th in every category except video because they don't have it. Arthrex is 1st in shoulder only. Smith and nephew is 1st or 2nd in every category. 13 years in this industry and your only making 170?? No one wants to hire you in recon...yeah you are worthless. FYI less than 1% of all health care systems have a sole or dual source for sports med. The reason recon does is because the government is a huge payer in the market and trauma does because of the similarities and simplicity of the products Drs can easily be pushed into one of 2 or 3 companies. face it, you have zero relationships, a lack of talent and no one wants you. B. Arthrex is only 1st in shoulder.
C. SN is 1st or 2nd in every category
D. 13 years of experience and no other recon company wants you

H. There are only 3 GPOs that control sports w/I there members and none of them have even 50% of their sports business sole or dual source. All of them have a majority of their sports spend with off contract members.
I. Recon has a large part of the business under sole or dual source deals bc the gov has a huge spend with recon so they can control it. Trauma struggles to have different products from their competitors so it's easier to do 2-3 vendors.
J. Less than 1% of all hospitals have a sole or dual source sports contract.
K. You are a worthless rep that no one wants. You don't have relationships. Surgeons like your products not you. Like the other guy said....run to gyn bc ortho doesn't want you.
