The company plans on shutting down batesville, lulea Sweden and Mtpelier France.
The management is getting worse and worse. The new ops guy helsel is a joke...and the new head of international is one of the worst I have seen...so arrogant, jumping into conclusion without understanding the facts but worst he claims he is the expert...when he came on board he claimed he is raising the bar and threatened everyone with finding a new job...it looks like a year after he came on board sales continue to down.

unfortunately there is some truth to above. New leaders come on board, with a degree of enthusiasm and would like to bring a new perspective...so far totally understable. they want to move quick and prove their skills etc...along the way, they make some big and bold comments...a year later we see the performance (revenue, cost etc) did not change for better.

If Trump is the next President, it may be a mistake to have any manufacturing out of the country. I hope so

It was announced that sweden and france (Mt Pelier) will be closed. The rumor is that Volker will be sold. International still struggles. I am not sure why Alejandro was let go. The performance of the international is much worse under Carlos Alonso. Personal opinion, Alejandro had the trust and respect of the international organization. Carlos does not have that.

You must be kidding me, Alejandro Infante was a joke! People should identify themselves in this board, these opinions sound as coming from resented people who were let go. Hill-Rom was lacking leaders as Alonso and Canal, and results start to show up. I know Carlos Alonso from many years and sure he will fix this, he is ruthless with incompetent people, who are the ones probably writing on this board now. Hill-Rom is ready to take off in International

I can't agree with you. Comments are coming from a current employee from Germany. This is not just me, number of us think this way. New international leadership started in April 2015. how many more quarters do we have to wait till the results show? Should we check this post in April 2017 after 2 years?
I hope I can share your optimism but the results don't show.

How much is the current management and how much are products and integration mistakes done in the past? Particularly taking into account Germany, severely screwed up by incompetent people like Infante and Jorgensen .... maybe it will take it beyond 2017, but something it is very clear to people like me working in Europe today: if the current leadership doesn't fix it, it will be difficult to find somebody who can do it ....

I agree! There is a substantial positive change in the quality of leadership today and numbers will show it along this year. Issues are being addressed and resolved, leaving no place for incompetence and complacency. It seems that only the resented people who started this thread are missing the long list of incompetent people started with Infante, Vossenaar and Jorgensen who were let go ....

2017 is still a transition year. Too much of a mess to fix in 1-2 years, impossible. Important structural changes are being made in Europe today which will start paying back still in 2017, but more evidently in 2018. Germany had never been easy for US companies, certainly not for Hill-Rom. Just take a look on how many country GMs were there before Selinger....

Q2 2017 closed with solid growth in International, driven by all regions. It seems the turnaround is happening and Greisch was very appreciative on Alonso's leading this transformation. The cleanup is paying off and getting rid of Infante, Jorgensen, Lafon, Kocher .... the list of incompetent people goes on .... is paying off. I know these guys from Baxter and they know very well how to get a business turned around ..... any comments, laggards hill-romians? Are you survivors still afraid of being kicked out after years of sucking energy out of the company?
