Interesting to say the least. Rio has changed, their money has become more expensive for us. It rained a lot, my Portuguese has really deteriorated in 5 years and in their effort to establish regulation of the street vendors (understandable cause they can be a pain) sitting at an outdoor bar in Copa or Ipanema wasn't as colorful as my past experiences. I probably won't be going back to Rio but maybe the Northeast beaches. The second segment (6 days in a small town in Central Brazil, near Paraguay) was a delight. My family hosted an exchange student in 2001/2001 and she got married on Nov 16th. It was a 5 day / night party in a lovely small town, with hardly any crime and full of good fun loving, family people. Then the last 2 days in Copa again in an old (think 30s) condo apartment that is in the process of being restored to rent out during the Olympics.

The 2 things I learned were: 1) There is no place like home and 2) At this point in life, I no longer have the desire to travel for 20 hours to get somewhere. If I leave the country again, Cabo San Lucas or Loreto looks good to me and they're only 2 hours away from LAX.

Speaking of which, I have been there for about two years now, with fewer and fewer disallowed posts. Shouldn't my Probation be over? The Poli Board is closed, and I am essentially neutered.
 




With all due respect, they kept me in modmo purgatory too - until I sent an email and requested reconsideration. So I hear you but I don't think it's auto re-instate, I think you have ask for another chance. That's what I 'think' but I certainly can't speak for the mods. Then of course, if given a seond chance, you have to be good.

I mentioned this to our friend from Alabama once when he was suspicious of how I got off modmo. Then, when I told him, he said he didn't wanna do it, so.............

I know we all want 'freedom of speech' but then again, this is a privately owned website with paying advertisers. My SIL is an attorney and was here this w/end. One of his current biggest cases is someone suing a website (totally unrelated but still). Think about it. They (CP) doesn't know us and if some whack job (like Mole - RIP) starts saying weird stuff, they could get sued. Not that the other party would prevail but that means money spent on attorneys plus possible loss of advertising. I have to say, I don't like being censored but I do kinda see their point.

Now if this were a government owned website - different story. But it ain't.
 




I've been singing that song for years....the part about it being a private website and if one doesn't like how it's run or how it rules posts being inadmissible or not, then do not come to this site. It's pretty simple.

If you want to stay, you have to play by THEIR rules.

Where do you think it went? Too much prosthelytizing, so I put you and your buddy together on one thread so you two can go back to your dimestore duo bible beater act and the rest of us don't have to listen. And you went for it.

Have fun and here's a couple of thoughts: 1) feel free to start your own divorce thread and see how much interest you get or 2) stay in your 'tall' grass only peeking your head out now and then to judge others based on your interpretation of a book written years ago by someone else

LOL! Somebody sure is sensitive about some things.

What it all translates to is you don't like hearing other opinions on issues. That's pretty sad.

A significant part of the "success" of your threads is due to my posting on them, so put that in your pipe and smoke it! LOL!

More 'illusion of grandeur' on your part. What other threads here have you 'made successful'? And in fact, if 'success' wre a concern of mine, I wouldn't have deleted the thread. You were banned twice and we did just fine - in fact it was a breath of fresh air. LOL! :rolleyes:

LOL! Yep, this is the good ole hypocritical Vag we have all come to know and well........to know!

You bring up the concept of success and then when I turn it around on you, you get hysterical.

We made it just fine when you were in Brazil too.

You really need to quit lying to yourself. I bring a lot to this board and it's poorer when I'm not around. And no that's not ego. It's poorer when lots of posters are not around, whatever the reason.

I just find it highly amusing that some of you here are so sensitive and defensive that you can't stand being critiqued or having someone argue (with facts I might add) the other side.
