Hernia rep

How is this gig? Would it be worth giving up a $140k job? I've heard this is under that from a comp standpoint..thoughts? Also, how are these products differentiated in the market? Or what makes a surgeon choose the Covidien products for hernia repair instead of the competition?

It sounds like a lateral step for you at best. You will have a total package selling mechanical, mesh, bio etc. for the most part but competition is plentiful and cut throat in hernia. If it's worth it to you to make about the same or less to jump into a new company and learn the world of hernia then go for it. IMO its not worth the move unless your gonna make at least 10-20 grand more or have advancement room.

By cut throat I mean many companies and reps out there, price, consignment, contracts, compliance, having to babysit surgeons as much or more than many other products because if you leave the OR to take a leak then your competitions is having there mesh opened when you walk back in. I am stretching the facts some but it s brutal, I know all device is tough but seems like everybody has a mesh product these days.
