Herman's Squirmin'

It looks like some new details cast further doubt on Cain's claims . . .

It isn't the scandal so much that decimates a campaign, it's how badly the scandal is handled. Scandals test a candidates judgement, communication, and most importantly, the people chosen by the candidate to advise and act on its behalf. Can you image who Cain would put into his cabinet, given how badly his people have dealt with this?

That being said, Hermie was supposed to be a novelty act. He started getting too big because Romney and Perry are such losers. They had to take him down. He thinks Perry did it and I think he's probably right.

I agree that he hasn't handled it well and is letting it define him and his ability to lead and manage. Leaking this information is right in line with obama and Perry's style so I could see it coming from either one.

But there is a reason dems have kept their focus on Romney. He is the one who can beat obama, who has a plan, and who has the experience. Do I like everything about him? Of course not. But he can win. The tea party members in the house and senate will keep him in line and I like that he pushes through the views of his constituents instead of his own personal agenda.

I disagree with ILA that this is like McCain being a RINO and that being the reason he lost. Who the GOP candidate was had nothing to do with it. In 2008, ANY dem would win and ANY rep would lose, plain and simple. The dems are hoping and praying that the GOP field doesn't narrow too soon and that the candidate has a fatal flaw or is such an extreme that people may not vote for them.

The key is - who will Romney pick as VEEP. If it's Fig Newton he's done and it can't be failin' Palin.

From the looks of the current damaged and maimed field of GOP candiates, picking the nominee will be tough enough, the VEEP choice should be even more comical.

How about Trump for VP? He can still do his show and just do some appearances like Biden (but a much better job).

Did Christy say NO to VP as well? Just curious.

I would love for Trump to be the veep candidate - He would be the male version of Sarah Palin, only with much worse hair and not much more between the ears.

Trump as VP choice would make it a slam dunk for President Obama to be re-elected.

"Newt Gingrich ? Intellectual? That's one of the funniest things I've ever heard."

"I would love for Trump to be the veep candidate - He would be the male version of Sarah Palin, only with much worse hair and not much more between the ears."

I'm more worried about Herman's views on international affairs than his personal affairs.

I somewhat agree, yet Reagan and Obama were both pretty ignorant aboutcy international relations in the beginning. I think a lot depends on management style.
Reagan had a hands-off style, setting policy and not getting bogged down in detail.

Many presidents of both parties have been micromanagers. Remember LBJ selecting bombing targets every day?

Reagan's policies brought down the USSR. Remember what happened the very MINUTE he was sworn in?

I see a lot of Reagan's style in Cain.
