Very disheartening if this rumor turns out to be true - and given the source I'm inclined to believe it.

Will we all be working for Sobi, Shire or (gasp) Pfizer by year-end?

Not a great look for Biogen. So much for long-term commitment to the hemophilia community.
 




















things are getting crazy. They should have done gem stone and this all in one fell swoop. Instead dept's have been hanging in Limbo for months with rampant rumors. Morale is down,( non existent) any trust in leadership is gone and everyone suspects their co-worker of plotting against them. People with 10+ years have been leaving in droves.. If anyone wants to know how to ruin a company and demoralize your work force, look no further..
 




The leadership team (and I use that term loosely) is a joke. Folks heard about a major dept reorg, and learned of their new boss, at a going away party for a fellow colleague. Completely classless and tone deaf.

Standard biib playbook - called planned attrition.

Spread the rumors, causes folks to leave on their own accord and it saves them severance pay. Most companies do that.
 




So true. In limbo for several months. Now we are hearing next week whats going on. since gemstone everyone's morale is low. Most of us aint leaving until asked to leave. In the mean time we aint going the extra mile , not even the mile itself. I see colleagues who don't give a shit and actually get paid for not doing anything. They come in at 10 and leave at 3. Management doesn't care either cause they are also in limbo. They are losing money and instead of doing something about it and bring clarity they choose to spin off a successful product and fuck up the classics like Avonex/Tysabri. The latter products, folks are so demoralized that they do their work half resulting almost in recalls or mistakes in manufacturing etc. People start not to care anymore and thats the worse you can have. People lost their trust in Biogen.

Before you get all distraught know that they are making a separate company entirely for the hemophilia space. Which means that unfortunately Biogen employees who are currently supporting hem will be let go. I hope that makes your community feel better. Smdh
 




The seperate company is a joke. Listen to the investors call. It was spun off as a tax savings so it can be acquired, along with the people. Biogen never should have strayed from it's expertise....
