help please: viibryd vs. other ssri's?

Hi,

I was just rxed Viibryd by my doc. He said it had less side (specially libido side-effects vs other ssri's). I'm a rep for diabetes rep and am just trying to find out what's the benefits, etc.

Is this any better than other ssri's?? What other benefits vs other anti-depress?

Any help would be much appreciated.

That wasn't very nice!

Viibryd is an SSRI, but it also is bundled with a 5HT1A receptor partial agonist. (The only other 5HT1A RPA I know of is Abilify.)

I have used it now for about six months and it is a BE-yatch. It has an enormous amount of side effects, including a lot of gastrointestinal problems, headaches, muscle aches and heart palpitations. However, for me, it has worked better for depression. My doctor says a lot of his other intractable patients have also been helped.

I struggle with the side effects of this medication every day though. If there are any other options for you, you should consider them first.

This drug is awful...I had so many side effects it made me even more depressed. my doctor prescribed me another one called Pristiq and it works better - not great but much better.

I actually stopped it bc I felt very hungry...don't need the extra lbs.

maybe a I''l just give the older stuff a try..
