Hearing Feb for next layoffs

In recruiting, we are hearing from numerous sources that another round of Vertex layoffs is imminent, most likely Feb. This time it will include a lot from the research side of things. We're hearing this from voices pretty high up the tree.

It is good for us, as it gives us more resumes to work with. But the downside is that right now we don't have very many solicitations for advanced resumes.

Good for you. Share something we don't know some time.

OK, how's this: In research, everyone above a certain level (level is not yet finalized) is going to have to reapply internally for their job, with a set reduction rate applied to the applications.

There will not be hiring from outside, but you and your colleagues will be applying for the same "vacancies".

I have heard this from multiple sources.

Awesome. Can we get referral bonuses?

Get rid of the fools in commercial..they did drive our company into the ground

Uh, I think that would be Gilead's purchase of Pharmasset that did the grounding. You can't can't compete when Docs are waiting for a better drug to get approved. Sorry, sport. Best commercial team on the planet can't help when the competition has a much better drug.

So why were useless HQ commercial employees retained?

BINGO!! Not only useless, but expensive, too. Imagine how much could be saved in cash if those fools were shown the door.

Yes! Not to mention all they do is spend money foolishly with no fiduciary responsibility. The company can't trim down HR, Legal, or other commercial staff so the company has a chance defending lawsuits. Management isn't the brightest..get rid of all the people who bring money in but keep the people who spend it
