HDL Quit

Be thankful you don't work at the home office. Everyone there is terrified from what I understand. At least we got a conference call. Not sure if anything said on it was true or not. Seems marketing is just ignored by the new boss man, Phil has the worse case of ADD anyone has ever seen. Him and the new CEO are buddies I guess, and are gonna run this their way. I sense another round of layoffs soon. Not sure about you folks, but out here where I am is alot of opportunity with successful companies. I'm looking.

How do you know that HDL quit? Who did they tell? Everyone seems to know they have a new instrument, but the home office keeps getting specimens. There's been no official word from the company itself. . . interesting business practices. . . Where are you located since not at the "home office"? Is some other office communicating with them and not spreading the word?

Doesn't take a genius to know that their reqs have LDL-p by NmR on it and to send anything other than that would be a no no. That's why we are still seeing tubes you idiot. As their reqs change in the offices we will see a decline.

Try to keep up with us PH

yep sounds like someone in the "home office" doesn't know what they are talking about or how it works in the field.

My questions is what are all the double dipping (NMR/HDL) reps going to do now? just sells HDL so they continue to get their check?

The shit storm is already here. HDL won't have to change their reqs since they are still performing LDL-P and HDL-P by NMR. They can now use all of the LS data...all 375 studies since it is the same methodology. They basically are the generic to LS brand name LipoProfile test. It was a truly brilliant move on HDL's part. LipoScience downplayed the partnership and couldn't get a Vantera in their lab, so why not cut costs and perform their own LDL-P...the brilliant part, however, is through NMR. "The Gold Standard"...the direct measure. Their validation shows they are just as good. Just like the FDA Clearance for the NMR Lipoprofile test is EQUAL to the standard lipid panel, not superior.
Physicians don't care if a test is FDA cleared. Not to mention that the only part of the Lipoprofile that is cleared is LDL-P, so getting into that talk track takes you down a rabbit hole. I am confident HDL will produce marketing material that states just that.
Layoffs are coming....you are kidding yourself if you don't believe it. A training class coming in with 9 new trainees. Are you kidding me?!?! They have no idea what they are in for. I feel bad that some left stable jobs for this.
Don't get me started on the new "leadership". Don't understand the business and don't make any attempts to listen. It is sad to see what has become of this great company. The new leadership has stolen most people's passion for selling this test and changing the marketplace. Units, Units, Units is not the answer to an all time low morale in the field and a shaky corporate atmosphere. It is really sad to see the Otvos dream come to this and the fate of LipoScience in the hands of incompetent leadership.

Brajer (God loving) knew HDL was the devil but even he got sucked in by the sales they could produce. It burned bridges and relationships with the important national Labs, yet we continued on.

PH came on board like a clueless puppy, and he hasn't changed a bit. Still asks the same stupid questions as he tries to wrap his little mind around this business.

Hey Ken M why don't you do a specimen count

Everybody can count, but the point is, SPECIMENS ARE STILL ARRIVING ON A DAILY BASIS. Perhaps quit doesn't mean what you think it means? Not saying it won't happen, but doesn't look that way quite yet. . . .

LipoScience Announces Termination of Contract With Health Diagnostics Laboratory
First Quarter 2014 Revenue Outlook Update
GlobeNewswire LipoScience, Inc. 1 hour ago
RALEIGH, N.C., March 28, 2014 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- LipoScience, Inc. (LPDX) today announced the termination of its relationship with Health Diagnostics Laboratory, Inc. ("HDL Inc."), one of its laboratory customers. On March 17, 2014, HDL Inc. began offering its own non-FDA cleared test for the measurement of low density lipoprotein particles ("LDL-P"). While the NMR LipoProfile(R) test may continue to be made available to HDL Inc. customers, LipoScience would like to ensure that physicians are able to differentiate with certainty which test result they are receiving. In order to ensure that patients and physicians are aware of and have unlimited access to the NMR LipoProfile(R) test, the only FDA-cleared and clinically validated test for measuring LDL-P and for managing patients with cardiovascular disease, LipoScience has terminated its contractual relationship with HDL Inc. The Company plans to mitigate the effects of loss of revenues from HDL Inc. by focusing on its relationships with other national, regional and local lab partners and by alerting physicians to use LipoScience lab partners that offer the NMR LipoProfile test.

Ineresting that Doran says HDL made for significant business for liposcience yet the qtr will only be hit less a million. How can that be so if HDL was 35% of the business? This may be bad for shareholders, but good for employees that they need to build the business. Funny how jobs that are crucial will prosper while shareholders take it to lower levels.

We believe that over time we will be able to balance the revenue loss from HDL Inc. *However, in the short and medium term, we expect our revenues will be impacted negatively," continued Mr. Doran. Based on the recent change in this customer relationship, the Company now expects total revenue in the first quarter of 2014 to be approximately $11.8 million, compared to the Company's prior outlook of $12.2 million.

About LipoScience, Inc.

Revenues less 35% will be realized 2nd qtr since HDL was still send specimens til 3/17. Shareholders needed this info asap. Good move for the CEO to only mention recent qtr. This gives the company time to start talkn about new customers in PRs. Initial bust to PPS could be significant but the company will survive imo just fine just a little leaner and meaner. Good for employees that stay the course!

PPS is the acronym for a stock's price per share and is not the same as a stock's current trading price. Investors calculate PPS when deciding whether to purchase a specific stock. Financial professionals also refer to PPS as market price per share.
