HCA

This is why UHS have a fundamental flaw....UHS says the key is to have the conversation with the customer contact who can make the right decisions and understand what we have to offer.......right? How about having the right UHS people who can deliver results. Stop blaming the customer and the Health Care changes.

Losing the HCA contract to Hill Rom requires us to articulating clearly the value to our customers.........who is the us here? Seems that the field sales is engaged more than the corp sale force.

So where is the accountability now? Gary = Fail.

The fat lady is warming up.

True comedy - when the plane touched down with Blackford and Cook a msg was on their phone stating the meeting had been canceled and no need to come by - great last minute work leadership

It's amazing that Gary said that the loss of the HPG and HCA contract does not change our strategy, and he thinks we will get a "big chunk" of that business. Gary, listen and learn - our strategy is not working in today's market.

I think the key here is not a bundled approach, but a bungled approach.

Let's look on the bright side.

Some of the stuff we get back from HCA hospitals can be sent to Texas to help replace the massive amount of equipment we've lost at Memorial Hermann.

Re: HCA ut oh

Hill-Rom the sleeping giant has awoken! Now uhs is getting hit on all fronts!!

From the Big guy (H-R) on one side and from Freedom on the other side... (now that they are P-E backed)

With the HCA failure and the upswing of others....like Med-Equip in TX and LA and TN.......UHS will have a hard time to just maintain.

And this is not going to help the board in selling. Simple economics.

Who would buy this house of cards?

We're losing market share in MES.
Our gross margin is headed in the wrong direction.
We have over $700M in long-term debt.
We've had a cumulative net loss of over $100M in just the past 3 years alone.
We haven't had a profitable year since 2006.

I'm sure the offers are pouring in! :)

On the contrary, there are actually quite a few potential buyers out there.

Gary just needs to find one that can't read a financial statement or use a hand-held calculator.
