I have been with Forest and actually did. I am however the only one I know personally. Anyone else out there who has done this. God it was hell though.
No. Nobody else did, me included. However, I deserved it. I really didn't work, was a dick to my manager, and couldn't sell my way out of a paper bag. My sense of entitlement really crept up as well during my time in the process.
I was finally asked to leave. Now I work in a job more suitable to my skills and my work ethic. I miss pharmaceuticals and now spend bitter days trolling this board, wishing I worked harder, studied more, and was open to coaching from my boss.
My life and experience may serve as nothing but a warning to those remaining.
I'm going through the process as well and doubtful that I can survive this. To the OP please explain how you were able to survive.
I am a previous manager (years ago) but nothing has changed at Forest. I left because it is too difficult and time consuming to work worthless reps through the process (that does not mean that I think all reps are worthless but all of you have worked with those that you would never hire as your counterpart). Simply follow and improve on the items outlined in your letter. Call and email your manager daily for feedback, ask him/her how you are doing and what else you can do to improve. Once you improve those competencies he/she will have to move on to another skill set or behavior. Keep in mind that "most" managers at Forest are just trying to improve their rankings and it is frustrating when you have a few bad apples on your team. Forest managers are pulled in a lot of different directions, work life balance was horrible and at the end of the day the last thing I wanted to do was place someone in the process. It is a lot more work on the DM than it is on the Rep. Good Luck!!
This is a great post. I know most people on CF think managers are bad. Not always true. I've had a few now with Forest. Really, keep your numbers solid and stay off the radar and you won't hear much from them. Really this person is right at the end of the day they don't want the extra work either. I have never been a manager at Forest. But most will tell you it is a lot of work to have someone in the process. Just keep your numbers up and handle your stuff and most (most) will leave you alone.
