Has the in-house clinic stabilized

WP has a very short term outlook and will likely sell VC in a year or two. The salary will have to be very high to attract top talent to what will likely be a temporary assignment.

The new hires probably will have to be informed as to why so many left the group all at once so they do not repeat the same scenario as their predecessors.

Guessing that they will probably not tell the candidates that they are interviewing because three people from the same group quit within weeks of each other. Would definitely send a negative vibe for the position.

Didn't the head of regulatory for contact lenses get let go recently as well? Seems strange as the company seems to be having some success with new products coming to the market?

Pharma is the main focus of this organization. If you are in Vision Care you are a second class citizen regardless of your performance.

Did they give any reason for why they quit? Where are they now? Did they find another job or are they still looking?

They are still around if B+L want to maintain a business relationship with them. They may not want to work with B+L if nothing changes from the last time they worked with B+L.

Given that the former employees are set up to do the same type of work (clinical research) they were doing before in the same city (Rochester) there are two possible reasons for this.

1. The company was looking for a convenient way to outsource their in-house clinical work and having the former employees set up shop down the street from B+L with promise of contract work from B+L. This gives the company flexibility in case it sells parts of its company to others.

Or.

2. The employees hit a brick wall with the management at B+L either with their careers or in the conduct of their work and decided they could go it alone without B+L hoping to get contracts from other Pharma/Medical device companies.

Either way, if you are looking to get a job in B+L in-house clinic you may want to inquire as it could effect whether you job is just a temporary assignment.
