Seems like it......shrinking industry, reimbursement, low ball client pricing, commodity.

Not what is used to be.....what are there, 40 "oncology" labs now?

No groundbreaking technology regardless of the marketing material.

You can see the look of envy when those device reps walk by in their scrubs!!....."hey how about a PSA test...special of the week"??

It is absolutely the dregs. You feel like a 5 dollar whore. Miserable industry to be in. Can you imagine how bad it's going to be in next few years? There will be labcorp, quest, large hospital chain labs like kaiser, few speciality labs. It will be next to impossible to get business once the majority of the physicians in the country are slaves to catholic/university hospitals.
 






I agree..How many labs are begging for a bone marrow or molecular test? Used to be a little prestige in the industry. Not even Mayo or ARUP can claim that now. And don't get me started on all the "me too" labs. "Path" this, "Gen" that, "Hemato" this, ....uugghh!

I would kill for a device or capital equipment job with a strong growing company. But they rarely hire without that experience.

Call me frustrated in the Midwest.
 












Funny, I was thinking the same thing on Monday as I was doing my usual groveling for bone marrows. Hey Doc, just one case please??? His response summed it up: "you guys are all alike and only want to talk about how different you are. I don't see any difference".

I then "slithered" back to my Camry to hit the next guy! Talk about feeling like shit.

I haven't heard it put that way before but having been done this for the past 10 years I would have to agree with you.Especially with rep that Bio has, and it's all because of the sleazy history and continued presence of the know it all "posse" that clings to Gradman like leeches. And speaking of leeches and dregs, how about Mr. Todd. His sense of self worth is unlike anything I have ever seen. While Dee Lopez,Ed and Ammar continue to worship at his feet and other appendages!!
And everyone knows he could/should have been taken down in the JL mess. A senior manager( Finance) told me has used the company credit card for hundreds of thousands in personal expenses. Wine cellar, daughters wedding party, etc.

Dregs defines the industry too, not just the sales function.
