Am I the only one who feels that issues here in Merck are not really issues outside the company?

Management: Do your leaders know enough to mitigate and resolve issues, or they are making a mountain out of a mole hill?

PS: Escalation is not a form of issue resolution.

KPI should be set for cross-functional collaboration and issue resolution and individuals penalised for stirring up non essential matters. What a waste of company resource.
 


















This is a really good post. A colleague of mine calls this “breaking into jail”….create a problem where there isn’t one, escalate it and then solve the problem that never existed in the first place.
 






Chaos leaders...there are people who can't lead unless there is a crisis, some fire to fight...so they create chaos, elevate the importance of issues to "create a fire" that they can fight...then they get a reputation as a real problem solver, the person you want in charge "when something hits the fan"...there is no strategic aspect to this leadership style, no forward looking plan...just one fire after another to fight
 






It doesn’t help that 95% of the sales reps here are completely inept, full of excuses and can’t think outside of the box if their life depended on it. You want to talk about bad leaders? Let’s talk about this worthless sales force. Take your pick.
