my guess will be November 10th following 3rd quarter and YTD sales numbers as well as at that time all legacy SGP will no longer be under the "old SGP severance" plan

Thank you for this great news! This company is ridiculous. Leadership has no vision, this S1, S2, and S3 "branding" is ludicrous and Merck has zero respect from other organizations and customers.
Whoever is the brains behind this "new SIP business model" needs to enroll in some Graduate Business classes before they start rolling out this crap. Universally, in every single case study ever performed, the end result is people are motivated by rewards. Nowhere in any documented business review does it conclude that by stripping people of their dignity, withholding bonuses and reducing salaries creates profit for the shareholders.

Pharma is dead...they don't want to reward you. The intent is to demoralize you so that you leave on your own...less severance for them to pay out. They know exactly what they're doing. Most likely will use contract reps after next round of layoffs...which cannot come soon enough.

Stock is now lower than the announced merger date in November 2009 and no help in sight--I sense that the impending DOOM REPORT for the Remicade decision will scatter the deck of the good ship lollipop for the next re-arrangement of the deck chairs ( FBEs ) for those with no nautical experience

Look around at who is elevated put on special assignments, gets an award. Selections have begun.

The time has arrived to collapse vaccine management into tablet. No need to have upper or middle management to sell to the same customers. It will save money especially if you outsource inline vaccines to a physician distributor. Now that's optimization!

Bunch of people will go in March but that won't be the end. Word is that they are looking at substantially more cuts than 15% from the November 2009 106,000 total. Surprise, surprise. It would be surprising if the total employee number is more than 80,000 by end of 2012. Lots more contracting but exactly where and with whom is not easy to know. Everyone is going to feel more pain and disruption - MRL Sales Manufacturing. And this presumes that the Remicade decision is favorable. If not, J&J might be asking for a couple billion in cash!
