great start for sales

If you want to have a career in sales - it is a great place to work for the exposure. But move on quickly. DME isn't regarded as a professional sale and can be held against you when you eventually go for medical sales postions.

You're funny. What "medical sales" position are you talking about? Not pharma. Those clowns are lining up to fight for a job in DME sales. Pharmaceuticals is an entry level sales job that'll burn you out in a few months. DME has great commission, excellent hours, high visibility and surgeons have a great respect and value your contribution.

Now if you're speaking of Apria, well then... you've got a point.

DME is a great job. Can lead into OR sales and more. I know DME reps banking some big bucks (65-70K/year...or even more). Apria is a major player in this arena. They have good training and sell the best O2 concentrators & CPAP in market.

$60-$70K is big bucks? What year are you talking about. Device reps make much more.
My base alone is $85K

I know that I made 95k last year, 88k the previous year. Its still not as good as med device, but can be on par with a lot of pharma, and is better than our competitors.

take 25k off whatever you are making DME rep ... I know Apria didn't give you a car and their reimbursement per mile isn't paying your gas bill ....

Working for a manufacturer is better. If you make it there- you will understand.

do you pay for your cell, gas, car, internet access, car insurance, car washes, oil changes....

do you pay out of pocket ....save your receipts... fill out your expense report and wait to get reimbursed.... ? how much of your paycheck is constantly invested in Apria..?

but your making 88k a year.....and it's the most money you've ever seen.
