The most laughable of all is how many people are scurrying around to write cover letters, be the star employee on a video, kiss the right asses, to “craft” a perfect resume, all in the name of being “excited” and “eager” about the mysterious ecosystem whose definition is purposely being withheld to get rid of the people the home office doesn’t want. Relax people. Your video, resume and cover letter do not matter. And NO ONE believes in the ecosystem model except the consultant company who sold it to DNA. Not one single employee is eager to go into an ecosystem. Pure entertainment watching people try to learn what to say to claim they have the right “mindset”. It is utter bullshit. Everyone is pretending. Sad how the ole mighty dollar will have the natives dancing on one foot to beg for a job.
 






Genentech is no longer a company for smart people. Most of the bright minds have left or are leaving. I just found out that one of the smartest guys I know in this company is leaving for another company. If he could not find a spot in this weird place, I think I need to reevaluate my plans. The severance is looking better by the day.
 






This place is very messy right now. It was really good for many years - however - biosims, too many people, hiring never stopped and now we are now in a massive downsize. Lots of good folks will leave and many will stay.... It will get better over time. If you have a solid severance, you may want to consider taking that option.

Ha...you got that Q...but JF is MSL Leader. I would say MCL but they getting blown up....oh...but MEDs are new and a disaster already. So much for that 'great external talent'.

JF, MSL Leader??? How’s that when she has little to no pertinent experience other than to be married to someone who probably got her that job before being shown the door

Sad... The whole "mindset," is just a legal formality where we all have to interview for our jobs when they already know who they're keeping. They tipped their hand during the national call, when the woman from PA (if I recall correctly) spoke up and called leadership out on their BS. It is true the company has been hiring people during the whole process regardless that they were going through with the lay offs. Its really sad when we were at NFM in Vegas and I was introduced to several brand new people with the company ( who were not white ) and telling how empowered they feel to have a job here. Mind blowing PC San Fran bullshit minded leadership pressured to do the wrong thing. Fire the people who made each brand a success to bring in new people with out the experience, relationships just based on their color.

On the other hand, they would let go the high performers from other franchises and hire externals to replace them. Does it mean they cannot be trained somehow? If it doesn't make sense to you, it is because it is a rigged game. The SSF leadership is so inept that they could not even lie to save their lives.

The level of intelligence among the senior leaders is laughable. Just take a look at the pathetic line up. Does the appearance of NO and JF provoke any excitement or inspiration? They look like they belong to the floor of your local Costco. They surely give dumb and dumber a whole new meaning. No wonder why they could not even coordinate their lies about the mindset BS hiring and retention bonus. Bob Swanson is probably turning in his grave. Then you add the callous DA, KR and TB, and top it off with the cluelessness of the ever-confused AH, this once thriving company is doomed for years to come. To accelerate the demise, they let this greedy BA steer this sinking titanic right into the iceberg in full speed. I will stop here since I ran out of adjectives for all the ass clown brown-nosed HEDs and HDs. That said, I am done with all the nonsense interview workshops and give my middle finger to the rigged process. I will be waiting for my severance check in June and enjoy my pacific coast summer. Good luck to those of you who still cannot taste the poison in your Kool Aid.

Hate to finally admit it, but the fix is in for this so called mind shift fit. They don’t give a rats butt. Look at who is going to be interviewed and finally hired for the emergency Lung TAMs. They will take people there already and to hell with the mindset.

Really, they know who they will place in most of these positions already and it has zero to do with mindset or skill sets. So long Gen Tech

Reading this thread, I am in shock at the naïveté of the people here. Wait until the big cuts start rolling in. We have earned our reputation of hiring and promoting only cronies and butt kissers of those at the top. Wait until we have to compete against downsized Merck, Novartis, and Amgen people.
