Great meeting

Just be patient, only six months or less till Simeprevir hits!

You know this is not as sure a thing as it was a few months ago. Rumor has it that "relations" have soured due to our attempts to install a poison pill to prevent JNJ from buying us . I have a source in Boston that has informed me that we may NOT co-market after all. Its always the reps that are used to make a point. well at least we have BID dosing and we will now be the low cost option.

If that's true than that will be even better for us. If a poison pill prevents a buyout than we may be bored but we will still have jobs. The day JNJ buys us is the day prior to being laid off. Trust me on this. JNJ will absorb this company and will not keep us around to help out with Simepriver. I hope we do have a poison pill. The rumors that I keep hearing is that it was only a matter of months befor we got gobbled up.

What's a poison pill?

If jnj buys us out is the retention fully vested?

nope, read the wording of the retention "it says that if we are separated for any reason" or something like that. Any reason includes layoffs due to being bought out. Nope we are scr ew ed . The co-marketing thing is NOT going to happen now. It cant get much worse here!! Oh ya, it can. Joe could be re-hired.

A poison pill is something in place (e.g., benefits to existing employees) to make a takeover unattractive. I was at Warner-Lambert when Pfizer did the takeover. I was at WL 20 months and terminated myself to get the benefits. Love the term they used: constructive termination. They wanted me to stay, but I had another position lined up, and the benefits were too attractive to pass over.

Is it true about the Co-marketing "project"? Please only answers with reliable info please, I have been offered an Oncology position and this just might tip the scales.

What I heard from 'friends in boston' was that we tried and tried to cut a co-marketing deal. We even came close to a deal with Achillion, but ultimately they just wanted too much. Sadly, we don't have a deal going. If anyone has heard anything else please let me know. My contact is pretty good but one never knows.
