Government Give Aways = Slavery

Slavery was supposedly abolished over 150 years ago, yet government enslaves many of us for much of our lives. I work the first 6 months out of every year for the Government. At this rate I will waste half of my life. What gives government the right to steal half of what I earn? Is a half-slave somehow NOW more acceptable than a full slave? Is half-slavery the compromise that all Americans agree upon? This is absurd.... Government is too big, too intrusive and COSTS FAR TOO MUCH.
