gotta tell the truth...to help YOU

Odds are if you are looking at this forum you are at least interested in working for IS. I will keep this one short, but...I just have to put this out there. Tons of counterintelligence out there on this forum and not sure why. I have only been here a short time but I have to tell you, I am kicking myself that I did not make the jump years earlier (recruiters first contacted me in 07). Quality of life is absolutely fine. I bring that up because it seems to be what most are worried about. Let me tell you, when your pay goes up $75K-$100K your QOL has a way of improving.

Regarding hours...gimme a break guys, I work no more than 40 hours. A normal, satisfying work load. It's not a problem at all. Sometime you train a doc on the weekend but its never a bore as you are training someone that is going to make your numbers go UP!

Anyway, I will keep it short, but the bottom line is...if you are seriously in a boring, dying, job and making in the $150-$175K range like I was you need to get your ass over here with the varsity now.

Sounds like a recruiter.

If you are interested in a job with IS, I think you should contact a few da Vinci surgeons in the territory and ask them about their previous reps. Most surgeons understand the culture and are not happy with the way that IS chews their reps up and spits them out to the curb.

IS has great technology, but horrible culture. There is a reason the average tenure is 2 years or less.

You say it yourself,"I have only been there a short time" Enough said! You're still in the "Honey Moon" phase. Come back on here in 8 months and lets hear your sermon. If you have read previous posts, they all mention the life span of a typical rep tenure. Why do you think they use recruiters to attract talent if this is such a great job and place to work? I am from outside the company and refused to interview with this company just on reputation alone.

well...OK. If you say so.

Meanwhile, excuse me while I make some money.

Well ok...."some money" means nothing to me! Excuse me while I tee off and still get paid! "Yo, cart girl!"

Let's hear from you in 8 months and see if you're still singing the same tune. "FOUR!!!!!!!!" Sorry, still working on my game...gotta get rid of this slice!

What's the deal with Hartford. Seems to be open every few months. No way it's expansion, is the manager a nightmare?

Yes, nightmare is an understatement. Promoted from a rep after only a year, had no leadership development. Its also home to the area VP who is a churn and burn tyrant. Over 20 reps have left (or driven out) of his area in the last year.

There are many open positions with IS, I have spoke to 5 of rthe eps in different positions, and two managers and there are very mixed opinions about work load, culture, e.t.c. Bottom line is society is phasing into a "I want to get paid a lot of money and do nothing to earn it" mentality.

I have two good friend who work for IS - 1) a CSR for 2 years and 2) an ASM for 1 year.

There is turnover, there is pressure to grow procedures and sell (but that's what you signed up for when you went into it) there is more money to make there compared to some other med companies, there are longer hours and more looking over your shoulder what have you done lately (again what did you sign up for)

Within the industry, there is a bad reputation with IS, but according to who you talk to it depends on the territory, manager, acceptance of new technology from the hospitals/docs e.t.c. Some hospitals love their IS reps and some dont, some managers are horrible, and some are great and want to help you grow.

Think about when you go over literature with a doc - you tell them the # of people in the study, some other info and the results of the study.

My advice, talk to a bunch of people in IS, do your own research and make your own choice about them - and live with whatever choice you make.......

There is no perfect, do nothing at all, and make tons of money gig unless its the lotto or inheritance money.

I hope healthcare doesnt change to much and we all can continue to do our jobs, whatever that may be.........

AGAIN...tons of counter intel.

OMG you have to talk about a clinical. OMG you have to sell. OMG you are responsible for growing the #'s.

These are concerns of a bad pharma rep. Most people actually sign up to SELL stuff. And dealing with a hospital that may not like your company/prev rep/mgr...that's all selling too!

No...FOUR!!!!! is exactly what I meant! It's what your wife screams in reference to the extra inches I give her and "slice" is in reference to "bitch"(again, your wife)...a little street lingo you may not get!

You're such a bright, young man! I can't imagine why ISI wouldn't want to hire you. Now hurry up an get that food platter into your doc's office for the fat cows on the staff. He may even give you 30sec to detail him.

Nah...just messing with you..I don't even work in your industry. I find humor in your responses to eachother and how poorly you talk about the company you continue to work for. Sounds like a shady business and with decreased robotic procedures it will be fun to continue to monitor this thread and watch you devour eachother publicly. Thanks for the entertainment and by all means, please continue.

Very well said!

What's the scoop on the West Coast? So Cal? Any good managers out here? I'm interested in working for Intuitive and don't have a problem putting in work. Sounds like some lazy ass people on these threads expecting to get paid for not doing shit.
