Last buying opportunity for Shire Stock inside the 401K is 12/22/2016. Was good while it lasted. Wish they wouldn't take it away but Fiduciary liability these days is real. Surprised they kept it for so long.

Standard advice is not to hold company stock in your 401K. You are already invested in your job at Shire. You are better off contributing to the ESPP.

You should care because they had superior benefits and compensation than Shire people. And what that may mean is that Shire levels those great benefits to all of us.
That doesn't mean squat. Shire had a GREAT severance policy in place if we ever got bought out and when AbbVie came calling they "negotiated" it away in favor of retention bonuses for the top 30 executives.

While it may be true that the Irish advantage might be lessened, the InsiderMonkey link you posted refers to hedge fund actions in Q3, well before Trump got elected. Are you suggesting 'smart money' (aka hedge funds) were anticipating a Trump victory? I seriously doubt they are anywhere near that smart.

>>>"The "money days" are gone and with Trump's plan to repatriot cash back to USA, Shire's "Irish value" is irrelevant now<<<

cars better, pay better, patient interaction and engagement better, culture better, leadership better, work/life better, bonuses better.....

Could we get something a little more tangible than culture and cars. Not everyone that works at Shire gets a company car, js. Looking for things like they got 5 weeks vaca to start we get 3, they got 120 hrs sick leave, we get 80 etc. comparison of the bonus structures
