My problem with govt is that it is rarely more efficient and even less often more effective than an independent collection of concerned and motivated citizens at tackling the community's problems. There are some really good workers employed by govt, but most are not compelled to action by their own convictions and this results in jobs poorly done. I should not force you to support your fellow man, especially in ways that usurp your liberty for means or ends that violate your moral convictions. Taxes numb us into accepting things we would never agree to, if we really had a knowledge and a choice. Most of us are working so hard to just get by in this economy as mothers, fathers and caregivers for our parents that understanding what is really going on in this country becomes nearly impossible, especially when one ideology dominates the education, media and entertainment industries like the left currently does. Power corrupts and absolute power corrupts absolutely. I had a contract with my government called the constitution, but my government is twisting that beautiful document into meanings no one clean of ideology or clear of pride could possibly have imagined.
