Glutamine as antidepressant

This amino acid is just wonderful (only those with mania and diabetes are discouraged from supplementation). Not only is it a mild stimulant (take only before 3 p.m., between meals only, 1-10 gram/day), but it also promotes GI tract health, counteracts hypoglycemia, prevents muscle tissue wasting during strenuous exercise, and deters up to 80% of habitual alcohol consumers. And it's cheap, just a few bucks a month. Move over, Cymbalta.

Has Lilly done anything with Glutamine analogs? I realize that Glutamine itself cannot be patented because God beat us to it, but one would think that analogs might be more specific, more potent, or both.

Interesting. That's the bulk of body-building protein powder, isn't it? That makes a lot of sense, because nearly every body-building site offers pure glutamine too.

Glutamine is also said to cross the blood brain barrier wheres glutamic acid cannot. I wonder if it tastes like MSG ... hold on a second... nope.

Glutamic acid passes BBB - no problemo, Josesan! However, amount of free glutamate in plasma is low -- too acidic.

For that matter, there are no better clinical trials than those body builders. American Medical Association and its criminal associates (a.k.a Pharmas), want them to ban every possible free chemicals that one can make.

Enjoy your I131-laced milk, thanks to amnesic USDA/FDA and EPA. They stopped monitoring I131, Cs137, and some other trace radioactive compounds.
