I have been here for about 8 years and yesterday's Global Vision Care All employee meeting was the best by far. Was anyone else on the call? I won't say I drank the Kool-Aid but i took a sip.

It is likely that the timelines for the new products is not going to be met. There are always delays. Just don't be disappointed when the pipeline slide breaks and spills oil all over the conference room.

2011 results (due next year, obviously) will show how well B+Ls innovation is accepted in the market place. If Biotrue can't return better numbers - sales revenue in $M and market share - than ReNu and take share from Alcon's RepleniSH then what else can from B+L? A new peroxide? (Doubt it.) Given that old projects - I still go fishing with some old R&D buddies - are being pulled up to the front of the Lens pipeline I'd say desparate times ahead. How much Biotrue sales are to Wal-Mart via private label. Enough to pulg the financial holes? (I heard Pete V. was cozing up to Wal-Mart back in 2009. Again, desparate times, but you've got to do, what you've got to do.)

For share results on the Lens Care Business you have to look at Nielsen not CLI as that is shipment and not consumption share. B&L Chemical is up over +2pts YTD while Alcon is down nearly -5pts. Biotrue gains are outpacing ReNu declines and unlike AMO B&L is not Freebating their new product. Far from perfect, this is a win. Similarly, the big DTC spend on Alaway seems to have worked with share gains in GEC. AS CLI will show, B&L is gaining share in Sphere behind PV2HD and the toric is on the way.
