Giving the PCP reps partners was dumb

I was totally ok never having a partner as a PCP rep. I heard Duane and others went to Switzerland to convince upper management that we should have partners. That was such a dumb decision. It was a major waste of money to give every PCP rep a partner. And also, we don’t need our useless partners!!

IMO there should have never been a PCP division in the first place. These are mainly specialty drugs and most PCP's refer the complicated cases to specialty anyway. By creating a separate division the company cut off referral pathways. This is especially apparent with Leqvio where patients have to have established ASCVD, which means they most likely have a cardiologist . Any high decile PCP could have easily been handled by the CSS. Doubling down and adding a second PCP rep was the height of stupidity and now we are left with a mess

As a former PCP rep I couldn't agree more. Thankfully I moved on for a better, much higher paying specialty position (albeit with another big pharma co). All current CV2s should be moving on (unless you want to wait for severance).

I took a PCP job with this company and I’m sorry I did. I’m actually doing well with both products and in my area have a better chance of staying than other PCP reps, but the lack of respect here has been so demotivating. Hopefully, I can parlay this into a severance and a better job offer or getting bumped up to specialty pay (and respect?) at Novartis.

I am with you. I regret leaving my last job for this. I’d be happy to get severance. Wish they were taking volunteers. I hope I don’t get retained.
