give 2 weeks notice or not?

The quintiles employee policy states that you should give 2 weeks. My manager has a history of making your last day the day you resign. If you are a favorite rep then you will be told to keep your resignation until the last day and then officially resign. If you are not a favorite rep then you don't get the 2 weeks to wrap everything up. I was thinking of calling HR and finding out if they really want 2 weeks notice or is it really up to the discretion of the manager? Giving 2 weeks has always been accepted in other pharma companies and I am not sure why Quintiles would be any different. I also don't want a bad reference if I don't give notice and that comes back to haunt me down the road.

What does the employee manual say? It's awful and suspicious that a manager will not honor the two week notice, especially during the last day of the IC qualification date. Sounds very fishy. What is your State?
 






Give your two weeks on your last day. If you are staying in Pharma, you will be on home study anyways for ales, that wont take very long. You only need to turn in computer, ipad and samples. Rest gets thrown out. Take the double money for the two weeks. Quintiles does not pay well anyways.
 












Give them 2 weeks notice and is they close you out early take the time off. You should be paid through that 2 week period regardless of the day they check you out.

Wrong. They can't bill the client for the two weeks you're not in the field and they certainly will not pay you as a gratuity. Make your last day your last day and just say you're giving two weeks. If you intend on giving two weeks notice, not working and expect to get paid, it doesn't work that way here, nor should it.

Just give them 2 week notice. Don't work that entire 2 weeks and FUDGE all of your calls. It will all work out the same in the end, and it will give you 2 weeks free time to work on your Snow Boarding skills. Good Luck!
