Could someone please provide some true insight into working in the GI division as a sales rep. How are the products perceived by the clinicians? How is the growth? Pipeline? Competition? What are the biggest obstacles/objections? Thank you for the input.

I would also like to know.
I am interviewing for a position and this company has already rubbed me the wrong way.
Not only did I have to fill out a 10 question application with interview type questions,
but then they want me to bring all these things to the interview: 2 copies of a brag book, 5 years of performance appraisals, field contact reports, sale numbers and it goes on
Really makes me not even want to go. If they want this now and are this anal about all this, the
How bad will it be to work there.

Pass on this time bomb, it is waiting to explode. New RDs are failing reps during routine role play certifications, comp plan has been re-adjusted so our payouts are lower, and morale is in the dumps. Stay put and look elsewhere.

Thanks for the input. Unfortunately, this sounds like just about every other pharma company around. We all need to find a new career outside of this industry!

Good luck making 50-60 tops with no car and bigger contributions to your benefits. Oh and maybe someone else out there matches its 401K better too. Unless your selling skills are so sharp you get one of those capital equipment jobs and can live off of two sales a year.

Try technology, food, device, dental, and countless other actual real sales jobs. They all make a heck of alot more than us and no BS to go with it...just getting in that is hard in this economy. You have to actually go sell something, no silly certifications, manager ridealongs, role playing and detailing from a sales aids, grinders, silly spreadsheets, busywork, pointless conference calls. It is actually results and believe it or not they travel but are home a lot. It is all about bringing in the business..what a novel idea!

Awesome news on diverticulitis today, hey geniuses running the clinical trials program how about setting some endpoints Lialda can actually hit!! It wasn't bad enough we confused our docs with stringent endpoints for UC, now you basically set up the blockbuster indication trials to fail! No wonder Cola hit the door running.
