Getting Noticed?

Serious advice only please....I have applied several times with this company and never even received a phone screen. I have several years of pharma experience but I have not been in this industry all of my working career. I have been contacted by almost every single company where I have applied in the past, but never Forest. Is there a "certain type" of candidate this company looks for? Also, is there a way to get my foot in the door to at least receive a phone screen or IV? Thanks, in advance!

Why do you want an interview with Forest so badly? If other companies have shown an interest, why does it matter if Forest gets back to you? It's a terrible company to work for nowadays. Terrible management and crappy products with no coverage. Consider yourself lucky, and focus on the other companies.

And I definitely agree with previous posters, if you have prior pharma sales experience Forest won't even consider you. Probably because you would actually know how to sell to doctors and wouldn't want to waste your time with all the bs management is trying to implement.

I agree with this, but would like to add that the real reason Forest doesn't look at people with pharma experience is because they're afraid you will know better -- you will know the pay isn't fair, the hours are ridiculous, all the admin is BS, etc. They can't afford to hire anyone who knows better, they can only hire people so excited to be in pharma they're blind to the BS and are slaves to Forest. That's the honest truth. Be glad they didn't call you back, and take a job with one of the other companies showing interest. Contract reps work less and make more than Forest reps. Even the managers at Forest STARTED at Forest. What a joke. Nobody that has seen real pharma jobs would ever agree to be treated this way, and they know that.

OP here, thank you for the honest advice. I appreciate the feedback. I am familiar with another company that operates in a similar way (hiring young, naive people outside of the industry). This other company doesn't belong to PhRMA and its promotional tactics are illegal. Unfortunately, the reps dont understand what they are doing is "illegal" because they aren't properly trained on FDA rules and regulations. I don't know if Forest is also run this way, but if so, I definitely don't want to risk my career on it.

Good luck and thanks again for the input!

This is one of the more accurate posts i have read on here. Key note is that the forest putz managers STARTED AT FOREST and have no concept of what a real pharma company looks like, operates like, or is acceptable and unacceptable. I strongly suggest unless you are an IKON office solutions rep who sells copier and fax machines or a cell phone grunt that you take heed of the warnings here.

Forest is the motel 6 of pharma and the managers try and hide this like the plaque. 99% of the DM's at forest could never in a million years be hired at a "C" level pharma or 'D" level pharma, they are incompetent, try to intimidate and micro manage, but this only works with naive rookie's who think they are in the "job of a lifetime" and it "beats cell phones and phone book sales"......you have go to be shitting me. 52K base, so much admin bullshit and the time stamps and attitude that you are replaceable at any given time by the 23 yr old manager is outrageously bad.....dont be another dumb hillbilly hire, do your own due diligence and move off this shithole job offer.....how dumb can one be or desperate. Unemployment beats forest up and down the court all day long...

I'd suggest forgetting everything posted here and decide for yourself. I personally believe Forest is a great company to work for. In what part of the country are you located?

Forest does not like to hire pharma reps. Payroll, rental cars (like that's selling?!), and copier sales is what usually gets hired at Forest.

Hey, fyi, Enterprise Rental hires more college graduates than any other company in the USA. Washing rental cars prepares the future Forest rep for washing their doctor's cars, and you have to admit that that is a true career path with a splendid trajectory.
