Get rid of job shares for goodness sake!!

Only in Pharma would job shares be allowed. So these job shares are a waste of space. They are on average suppose to work 2 to 3 days a week...really they work one day calling on the same doctors, increase benefits costs and fleet costs to name a few. Any full time rep having to work with a job share will agree. Now there are probably going to be some responses from people saying their job share partners are awesome....but we all know if a person writes that here then they are a job share.
Job share = dumbest concept(ever)!

Welcome the first job share employee reply!
Work from home and job-shares are totally different.
Guess you are going to tell me how productive job-shares are as well. Job-shares are usually people who want to get a break from parenthood and get paid a crazy amount of $$ for one days work.

Sound like my FULL TIME counterparts except you'd be lucky to get 2-3 honest days from most full time reps

Actually I am a full time FLM and have never worked a job share. I have managed good for nothing individuals such as yourself.

I have two friends that have been doing a job shares. Both of these people work more than any full time rep. I know, regardless of who their job share counterpart is. They also have exceptional numbers year after year. Job shares are no different than other representatives. Sometimes you get people that work twice the job, and other times you get people that work the minimum to just stay under the radar. I'm guessing you had a bad experience, but your comments are not valid.

Well MRS. FLM(yes, I know you must be a woman) the job share by definition showcases the person is not 100% committed to the job.... They are 50% committed to the job.

Serious question....has anyone met a male job-share?

A man can apply for a job share just as easily. The truth is most men could not handle juggling all of the things a women can with husband, children and job share. That is why you don't see men in job share. Work is all they can possibly take on. Even then, I have had many who don't even handle that very well.

Can I get an AMEN!!!

PREVIOUS JOB SHARE HERE-
let me just say, that I worked 5 years Full time before doing job "share".... It was complete BS , OVERTIME, worked "days off", both partner and I in every conference call, all those BS POD meetings, etc etc.... So I went back FULL TIME to get my FULL pay and work the SAME hours! Its Dickheads like OP made me realize that in order to get paid for the work I did, I might as well be FT on the books. NEVER worked so hard or so much "Non paid overtime" as the 3 years I SUFFERED through Job share.

It's easier being like you OP and just "go to work" everyday!

LET THE HATERS HATE.... That's what they do!

I know thats real!! AMEN its another way companies screw you, especially if you give a hoot about your territory!

Yet the job shares both get full benefits, full use of cars, and all of the other expenses of a full time hire. A very low percentage care about the job or have any depth of knowledge about their accounts. The majority does their obligatory lunch and sample drops and go home. I have yet to see a job share work a full day other than meetings. They are not a fiscally sound investment for any company.

Of course there are still too many full time reps too. Do you know how many make every call together with a counterpart? It would be easy to cut most teams by 50% without losing a minute of office time.

They pay more for benefits and cars. They receive half of their salary and they split bonus. I have seen both some really good job shares like the one mentioned above and I've also seen bad. However, it's the same with full time reps.
