I left, reluctantly a while back (you put the time frame on it was bf goldcup was awarded in 2016). I say reluctantly because DSI at one point was fun, exciting, has a special place in my heart. Spent a lot of time there and went up the sales chain, the right way, by promotion not "interviewing for my job and told what my job would be"... that's when I drew the line. I control what career and position I want, not DSI.. Also watching all the great talent and managers be let go. It was shocking. DSI had me believing "there is nothing better out there" or "I had good Teammates" or "my DM is so easy" whatever excuse I rationalize staying, I'm not sure... I was there through so many reorg's at low pay, compared to the industry. Waiting on the phone and happy I kept my job, along w sub-par products, besides the Benicar Franchise. I don't know. I look back, and passed up many offers through the years. Even thought that those that left were CRAZY, it did get a bit "cult-ish" at DSI. I have friends still there, they say is very bad, and this new company they folded in, they are even having a worse time. I know the "felling of being trapped", I thought I was and your NOT!!! I was not trapped!!! It took a personal decision to say ENOUGH!!! I'm out, I will organize my work career and interview on DSI's time. Listen... I know starting over is tough, but you must do it. Everyone I know that has left agrees the growing pains of joining a new company is hard, but the circus that DSI has become since 2011, constant layoffs, re-orgs... its brutal mentally.
Just get out, easier said than done, but DSI is in a managed decline. Don't be left on the end of a phone call with your RD saying you have been displaced. You will receive further info and a package in the mail. Take control of your career, e in a position of nogotiating power when interview, while still have a job at DSI. YOU lose so much negotiating power when you're unemployed. Best wishes.
