This question originates outside the US so I hope you’ll bear with me & not be too quick to jump on me.
It looks like the severance package ex-US (I’m based in Europe) is going to be based on the level you are at, rather than years of service, as would be the normal approach. So that means that someone at my level who has been with the company for three months will be entitled to the same severance package as someone with five years, ten years, 15 years etc. And Takeda have the generosity to offer to continue this for two years post-closing!
This is way below industry standards in my country - just above the base legal minimum for anyone with more than 8 years service at my level. I genuinely have never heard of as bad a severance as seems to be on offer by Shire.
Has anyone any further insight? I’ll admit I’ve been hoping for a severance package after many long years at Shire but I’m really shocked by what’s on offer. I’m still busting my gut - stupid maybe - but I am feeling like a mug when someone barely in the door is getting the same offer.
Anyone else looked at the package ex-US?
