Gentiva

I like working for Gentiva. I was in pharm sales for ten years and it is much less stressful. However, many if not all things are out of your control. Do your best everyday and you will find that working for Gentiva is good. I am making significantly less money, but am happier.

I came from pharma and I make a little more than I did. I like working for Gentiva as well. It's a challenging field to be in and you have to figure out what makes your market tick. It's nothing like pharma, it's more work, more challenging and more satisfying.
Before Gentiva I spent a year with a different home care company and I hated it, spent most my time trying to find something else. If they offer you a job ask for a little more and take it.

Any response to the above-just saw a posting for an Account Exec and it sounds interesting to me. Was in pharma for 6 years, took a break from that industry and now looking for something in outside sales in healthcare. Thanks!

Can anyone in Florida shed light on M Barber? He was just hired at our company. He came from Gentiva. Seems like a pretty good guy. I was just curious what he story was.

Let's face it. there is no more pharma. Home health and hospice are growing industries that require real sales and account management skills. You can't just show up and throw up like you did in pharma (I know, I did it for 17 years), but you'll find it far more rewarding. That's if they'll take you. Unlike a manufactured (faked) industry, home health is real business and they can smell a fake a mile away. You'd better have some real experience (B2B in any field is better than pharma alone). If they'll take you, you'll actually gain skills that are VALUED by other companies/industries...It's a great move. It's a necessary move for most, if you qualify. You'll make a little less, which is to say you'll make a little more than you (and me) are worth in the real world. My only hope is that the right people from pharma make this realization and the wrong ones continue to think they are "special"....if it goes this way, the good folks from pharma will transition into home health/hospice and the arrogant/retarded ones will be indefinitely unemployed beginning...well, any moment now. The ride is over!!!

I have seen some excellent pharmaceutical representatives make the move to home healthcare and work very hard and still not suceed. It is a competely different type of sale.

My first job was in home care then recruited to pharma sales. It was pharma that gave me advanced sales and related required training. I think that I will do quite well returning to home care sales-- shouldn't have left.

Gentiva is an excellent company! I have worked for two other competitors and was brought to Gentiva through a headhunter. Better salary, better benefits, more paid PTO, upward mobility.mits simple, if you produce, you are rewarded, handsomely.
