Gentics layoffs

50-something jobs were cut across NM, MA, and CA this week.

One nasty side-effect: They recently created a night shift, to which many new parents changed schedules so they could be with their kids during the day. Now that's being eliminated, so all of those folks need to arrange with their spouses again or find daycare, or quit. This seems like a sneaky way to drive off those pesky "mothers" who try to be anything more than housewives....

Whaa whaa whaa, probably bad employees.

Indeed there will be children crying for mothers over this. Of course you don't care, being the type of person you are.

Companies must consider human needs beyond young single males and their egos. That is the law, in fact, and ideals about market labor or "just quitting" are a fantasy. That's not the real world and shouldn't be.

Layoffs are never easy and I'd think that LCA wouldn't be targeting such folks but I'm ethical (and possibly gullible). Best of luck to all that were let go.

It's always good to see the company sociopaths crawl out of their holes.

Go die in a fire, asshole.

your parents must be so proud of you. I don't think someone who makes this kind of statement should be calling someone else a sociopath. Now go ahead and post another comment like this, will say everything about the kind of person you are. Get some help.

The reductions were ordered from On High. All of the local sites are managed by experienced and thoughtful directors - folks who obviously didn't start their careers at Labcorp. I don't think they specifically targeted parents or "bad employees" in this latest round.
