Generic Entresto means Vegas will debut restructured CV team?

News like we just received has an effect on the stock price, therefore the company will have to show Wall Street and its shareholders that they are being proactive. It also makes good pharmaceutical business sense. This is not new. Restructure and move forward with a new CV team come Vegas, a team where each salesperson will be focused on Leqvio with Entresto as a secondary product. I could be wrong, perhaps they ride out this generic threat for another year?

Unfortunately Novartis will not do the right thing and keep us together until Pelacarsen launch. Leqvio and disease state awareness doesn't warrant 850 reps. I think all the CV2 reps will be gone before Vegas meeting. They can save hundreds of millions by cutting the CV salesforce in half and this will look good on Wallstreet. Probably make CV1 go back to 70/30. Novartis will ride the Entresto gravy train all the way until the generics hits the market.

They will not do a simple CV2 cut, geography plays a big part in how they handle restructures. It will be a mixed bag of layoffs. I don’t see a long enough Entresto bridge to the Pelacarsen launch, makes too much sense to cut before Vegas meeting. They open up the meeting with the usual speech about how hard these things are to do, then quickly transition to pumping everyone up on everything that they have moving forward. It’s business, it makes sense and most people will be happy to have survived.

You were probably one of the ones who thought all the PCP reps would be cut in the last reorg too. In my area, more were retained than cv. Tenure had nothing to do with it either. Some Novartis lifers were let go, some kept. Geography didn’t seem to play a huge part. Numbers didn’t seem to play any part. I know someone who won President’s Club and got let go. It just won’t be as simple as you think.

Also, government is tired of paying 5 times the price for branded pharmaceuticals than Japan, France, Canada and the UK. Government wants everyone to get modern low emissions cars.

I know car salespeople don’t make anywhere near what I make where I live. Our dealerships churn through young pups pretty fast.
