Generic valsartan is already available in Canada. When is it REALLY going generic in the US? Earlier in the year I heard that Novartis was going to give Sandoz the right to launch their generic valsartan early (prior to patent expiry) to get the jump on the other generic companies. The time frame mentioned was late 2011.

Better watch out for Teva, or they'll do the same they did with Lotrel, ship late at night on a Friday, loads of generic Diovan to wholesaler, and we wake up on Monday with generic Diovan in all pharmacies. You'll see.
