General Questions - Thanks in advance!

Hi All - Just accepted a position with Covidien. I am a long time device rep and am just looking to find out a couple things (no stupid answers needed, thanks!). What are the current company car choices? I don't care what kind, but I would like time to research them to see what one I like best (I have small kids). Also, I read that you aren't allowed to use your car for personal use? Is that true? I have never worked for a company that limited the car use? Is there an option to take money to pick your own car?

Most liely a choice between a Malibu or an Equinox. You have full use of the car... No option..

Just be sure to NEVER miss your number.. Can be at 99% and get up on hot seat going into next FY... Good luck

Ok, you said no stupid answers so I'll try not to offend you. You already accepted the position, right? So it's too late to ask any of these questions. The vehicle policies are already in place so you have no choice in the matter. As a "long time device rep" you didn't think to ask these questions during the interview process?

Thank you for the real answer. As for the other answer, a car choice/plan would never be a deal breaker for me. I think we should all be thankful to have company cars or options. I personally think that would be a stupid question to ask during an interview process. But for someone who needs to fit a car seat in the back, I just wanted to know my options so I could do some research on size, etc prior too.

Thanks again for the first answer, I appreciate someone who isn't on here to give others a hard time and/or complain.

Agreed. NEVER ask about car options during interview process..

I'm also interested to find out what division you are hired for? They must have lowered their standards waaaaaaay down.
Are you midly-retarded or did you suffer a concussion since you were hired? Why would you post this stupid question on CP? While I agree that one should not ask what type of cars during an interview; now that you are hired, why don't you asks your manager instead? Or call up HR?
I bet you will also ask if you can use your phone for personal calls? Or if you get lieu days if you work a weekend conference.
Yes, there are stupid questions in this world, and you can this one to that list!

I am assuming you are inquiring about US position. Mainland Europe is A5 while US is 3 series.

You don't get your car until after successfully completijng training. You can not take a cash option since Covidien does the fleet program.

All of the stuff regarding use came in your offer package about the bi weekly payment and filling out the forms. States it right n the page.

In most divisions it's now a " pack your shit, give me your keys, you are being let go"

What car did you end up getting? Were there choices? Thanks in advance and hope it is going well!
