Gen meds map

I got kick off the web con. what did he say about the mapping for Gen Meds? Is it as simple as going to one rep per territory? Does that get us to the number we need. If im the only one in my territory am I safe?
 




Primary care footprint..It's not as simple as 1 rep per territory. All of PCP will be in one pool and those that meet the criteria stays. If you're in a solo territory, you're not safe because your area may be "white spaced", also you don't know how you stack up against others in the PCP pool. Best of luck all!
 




I haven't seen any info at all on the mapping criteria. Last time, everyone got put in the pool and was mapped based on ratings first. This lead to a lot of reps being placed in different territories. This time, all they said was they didn't want disruption in the geographies, which leads me to believe that we may either be mapped to our existing territory or severed. Shocker, that Novartis hasn't been clear on this. Either way, if you haven't started to come up with an exit plan, I suggest you do so ASAP. Even if mapped, the future looks dim with just one drug to sell and a generic of the drug could pop up anytime.
 




If they choose a rep based on each individual territory as opposed to ratings that will lead to inequities that could be the basis for a discrimination claim. For example if a rep that is retained has one more 3 in the ratings than their counterpart and the counterpart gets severed but in the neighboring territory the counterparts only have 2's in their ratings and one keeps their job it can look like disparate treatment. Instead of wondering how they are going to do it take the time and be productive by getting your resume and cover letters ready. Don't waste time. People that will only receive 12 or 16 weeks severance will have a difficult time getting a job before the money runs out. Use the next 8 work days productively. Even those who are retained your turn is just around the corner. Good luck to all.
 




Above posters are spot on. even if you keep your job Exelon patch can lose patent at any time. Look what happened with Lotrel years ago. If you only have 1 drug to sell and the ax drops, then what will they do. I give it 1 yr at best. Do yourself a favor and start looking now so you don't put yourself in a bad situation

Yup ! You are exactly right .... Especially since they were vague on the "exclusivity" question with respect to patch and basically said they cannot find anything to buy, heard they did and Nikos messed that up as well... So how come they can provide NO direction, no new products, no leadership yet they don't have to sit and wait for a phone call?

Because I believe this is all by design.....meant to fail. Novartis is getting out of the traditional Pharmaceutical business and moving toward Generic business. This was put in motion when Obamacare was being fashioned and Novartis, along with a few other major pharmaceutical players, and with the insurance industry, helped write the damn bill. These stooges on stage yesterday would have all been gone in days gone by with the way they have destroyed this company! Not in today's world....Novartis is looking forward to the inevitable Generic future of medicine. Pathetic!!!!
 




Sorry to say, but at another company I was at, they set the lay off criteria as "if your site closes, you lose your job" and thats exactly how it went. Didn't matter if that rep had 20 years and good reviews. There is no basis for a law suit if they set the criteria and follow it.
